𝗜𝗻 𝗣𝗵𝗼𝘁𝗼𝘀 | The LIMA English Society (LES) spearheaded the Photojournalism Camp on September 12, 2026, at the PoB Audio Visual Room (AVR), in collaboration with Phoenix, the official student publication of LPU–Batangas.

The camp gave students an opportunity to explore photojournalism, strengthen their visual storytelling skills, and discover how every frame can capture a story.

Join us for an engaging learning experience in photojournalism, photography, and visual storytelling, featuring a guest talk, discussions, and a hands-on activity.

Aligned with SDG 4: Quality Education, SDG 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, this initiative promotes practical learning, responsible communication, and student collaboration.

𝗜𝗻 𝗣𝗵𝗼𝘁𝗼𝘀 | The Counseling and Testing Center (CATC), in collaboration with the Office of Student Affairs (OOSA) and with the support of the LIMA English Society (LES), successfully conducted “The Mindful Mariners: Navigating Mental Health and College Life” on September 5, 2026, at the LIMA Audio Visual Room.

The event was conducted in two sessions— providing students with opportunities to participate in meaningful discussions, activities, and reflections focused on mental health and the challenges of college life.

Throughout both sessions, the LIMA English Society played an essential role in ensuring the smooth implementation of the event. LES handled the registration and attendance of participants from the beginning of the program until the conclusion of both sessions, while also providing overall event coverage and documentation.

The sessions encouraged students to develop greater self-awareness, resilience, and healthy strategies for managing academic and personal challenges. Through the collaborative efforts of CATC, OOSA, and LES, the event created a welcoming and supportive environment for students to learn, connect, and prioritize their well-being.

Aligned with SDG 3: Good Health and Well-Being, the initiative emphasizes the importance of mental health awareness, student support, and creating a campus environment where learners can thrive both academically and personally.

L𝗘𝗦:𝗤𝗨𝗜𝗭 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 | 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻, 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗸, 𝗔𝗻𝗱 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲

𝗜𝗻 𝗣𝗵𝗼𝘁𝗼𝘀 | The LIMA English Society successfully launched the first two weeks of the LES Series, an initiative designed to challenge students’ knowledge, sharpen their critical thinking, and encourage continuous learning through engaging quiz activities.

Across Weeks 1 and 2, participants took on a variety of challenges that tested their vocabulary, maritime knowledge, and communication skills, creating an interactive learning experience beyond the classroom.

Through this initiative, the LIMA English Society continues to promote learning, collaboration, and intellectual growth, while fostering a culture of active participation and continuous improvement among students.

Aligned with SDG 4 (Quality Education), the LES Series highlights the importance of accessible and engaging learning opportunities that help students develop knowledge and skills for their academic and professional journey.

𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙨𝙚𝙖 𝙞𝙨 𝙘𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙜, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙩𝙤𝙙𝙖𝙮 𝙬𝙚 𝙝𝙚𝙖𝙧 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙥𝙤𝙣𝙙!

𝐈𝐍 𝐏𝐇𝐎𝐓𝐎𝐒 | LIMA DAYS 2026 comes sailing with an uplifting kick-off anchored on the theme, “Breaking the Waves, Conquering the Tides”, symbolizing courage, strength and pursuit of excellence. The celebration starts with a parade of cadets full of pride, discipline, demonstrating oneness and high spirit of maritime tradition, May 5.

Capt. Alexander A. Gonzales, PhD, delivered his opening remarks where he set the tone of this festive and most sought-after occasion. It was followed by an inspirational message from Dr. Cecilla C. Pring, VP for Academics and Research where she gave her hearty congratulations to LIMA on its 50 years of maritime education, its legacy, and continuing commitment to excellence. A congratulatory message by Mr. Frederick C. Badillo, Vice President of Finance, was also heard wherein he recognized the efforts and achievements of the cadets.

The celebration is followed by the LIMA Drillers, as well as the faculty members and admin personnel, then energized the crowd with a snappy and skillful performance, showcasing precision and school pride.

The program concluded with the oath-taking of players and ceremonial toss, which signifies the official start of the games and celebrations.

This four-day LIMA Days celebration is expected to showcase talent, wit, camaraderie, and teamwork of all the cadets.

𝑫𝒆𝒄𝒂𝒅𝒆𝒔 𝒂𝒈𝒐, 𝒇𝒓𝒆𝒆𝒅𝒐𝒎 𝒔𝒆𝒕 𝒔𝒂𝒊𝒍. 🇵🇭

On this 25th day of February 2026, we honor the brave Filipinos who, forty years ago, stood firm like steadfast mariners amid a raging sea of uncertainty to break the chains of dictatorship. Anchored in unity and steered by courage, they proved that even the strongest tides cannot overpower a people determined to reach the shores of democracy. Like a dove soaring above calm waters, the nation charted a new course toward peace and freedom.
