ILOILO โ€“ Isang kasalukuyang Barangay Kagawad na itinuturing na High-Value Individual (HVI) ang nadakip sa isinagawang buy-bust operation sa Barangay Pajo, Lambunao, Iloilo bandang 5:47 PM noong Hunyo 6, 2026.

Kinilala ang suspek na si alias โ€œElvis,โ€ 31 taong gulang at residente ng Lambunao. Siya ay inaresto ng mga tauhan ng Lambunao Municipal Police Station at Iloilo Police Provincial Office-Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit Team 2.

Nakumpiska sa operasyon ang tinatayang 30 gramo ng hinihinalang shabu na may Standard Drug Price (SDP) na PhP204,000.00, marked buy-bust money, at iba pang non-drug evidence.

Batay sa imbestigasyon, halos dalawang buwan umanong isinailalim sa surveillance ang suspek dahil sa umanoโ€™y pagkakasangkot nito sa illegal drug trade sa Lambunao at mga karatig na bayan.

Kasalukuyang nasa kustodiya ng Lambunao Municipal Police Station ang naarestong suspek para sa tamang disposisyon at pagsasampa ng kaukulang kaso sa paglabag sa Republic Act No. 9165 o Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Pinuri naman ni Police Brigadier General Randulf T. Tuaรฑo, Acting Regional Director ng Police Regional Office 6 (PRO6), ang operating units dahil sa matagumpay na anti-drug operation.

โ€œAng operasyong ito ay nagpapadala ng malinaw na mensahe na walang posisyon, impluwensya, o titulo ang maaaring magsilbing panangga laban sa pananagutan. Inaasahan ang mga public official na maging kaagapay sa pagprotekta sa komunidad laban sa ilegal na droga, hindi maging bahagi ng problema. Magpapatuloy ang PRO6 sa patas at walang pinipiling kampanya laban sa lahat ng sangkot sa ilegal na droga,โ€ ani PBGen Tuaรฑo.

Hinimok din niya ang mga public official na manatiling aktibong katuwang sa pagpapanatili ng kapayapaan, kaayusan, at kaligtasan sa kanilang mga komunidad.

Sa ilalim ng pamumuno ni PBGen Tuaรฑo, nananatiling puspusan ang kampanya ng PRO6 laban sa ilegal na droga at ibaโ€™t ibang uri ng kriminalidad bilang bahagi ng kanilang adbokasiya para sa RESPONSIVE, TRUSTED, and TRANSFORMATIVE POLICING tungo sa mas ligtas na Western Visayas, bilang suporta sa bisyon ng PNP na โ€œBAGONG PNP PARA SA BAGONG PILIPINAS: SERBISYONG MABILIS, TAPAT, AT NARARAMDAMANโ€ sa ilalim ng pamumuno ni PGen Jose Melencio C. ILOILO โ€“ An incumbent Barangay Kagawad tagged as a High-Value Individual (HVI) was arrested in a buy-bust operation conducted in Barangay Pajo, Lambunao, Iloilo at around 5:47 PM on June 6, 2026.

The suspect, identified only as alias โ€œElvis,โ€ 31, and a resident of Lambunao, was apprehended by personnel of the Lambunao Municipal Police Station and the Iloilo Police Provincial Office-Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit Team 2.

Seized during the operation were approximately 30 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated Standard Drug Price (SDP) of PhP204,000.00, marked buy-bust money, and other non-drug evidence.

Investigation revealed that the suspect had been under surveillance for nearly two months due to his alleged involvement in the illegal drug trade operating in Lambunao and nearby municipalities.

The arrested suspect is currently under the custody of the Lambunao Municipal Police Station for proper disposition and the filing of appropriate charges for violation of Republic Act No. 9165, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Police Brigadier General Randulf T. Tuaรฑo, Acting Regional Director of Police Regional Office 6 (PRO6), commended the operating units for the successful anti-drug operation.

โ€œThis operation sends a strong message that no position, influence, or title can shield anyone from accountability. Public officials are expected to become partners in protecting communities against illegal drugs, not contributors to the problem. PRO6 will continue to pursue all individuals involved in the illegal drug trade with fairness and without exception,โ€ PBGen Tuaรฑo said.

He also urged public officials to remain active partners in sustaining peace, order, and public safety in their respective communities.

PNP NABS 8 REGIONAL TOP MOST WANTED PERSONS IN WESTERN VISAYAS

The Philippine National Police (PNP) announced the successful arrest of eight Regional Most Wanted Persons following a sustained series of coordinated law enforcement operations conducted across Western Visayas from June 1 to June 5, 2026.

The operations were carried out across various areas in the region, resulting in the successive apprehension of priority targets: No. 1. No. 5, and No. 6 on June 1; No. 4 and No. 7 on June 2; No. 3 on June 3; No. 2 on June 4; and No. 10 on June 5.

According to the PNP, the sustained accomplishment was made possible through strengthened intelligence validation, focused police operations, and close coordination among field units, leading to the accounting of all eight targets within just five days.

PNP Chief, Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., commended the operating units for the swift and disciplined ex*****on of mandates, underscoring the importance of sustained operational momentum in ensuring public safety and accountability.

โ€œAng ganitong klase ng tagumpay ay bunga ng tuloy-tuloy na intelligence-driven operations at malasakit ng ating kapulisan sa tungkulin. We will continue to strengthen our presence on the ground to ensure that those who have pending warrants are accounted for. Asahan ng publiko na hindi kami titigil sa aming trabaho para sa kapayapaan at seguridad ng bawat Pilipino,โ€ said Police General Nartatez Jr.

He also emphasized that the accomplishment is aligned with the PNP Focused Agenda under Enhanced Managing Police Operations (EMPO), reinforcing the organizationโ€™s commitment to more precise, coordinated, and proactive field operations in support of the national public safety direction of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.

Authorities noted that the arrested individuals were among the regionโ€™s priority targets, including several high-ranking entries on the wanted list, all successfully accounted for through continuous surveillance, validation of intelligence leads, and coordinated operational actions.

This achievement forms part of the PNPโ€™s continuing nationwide campaign to strengthen law enforcement efficiency and responsiveness, in line with the broader vision of a safer and more secure communities.
