OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT

SUPREME STUDENT COUNCIL (SSC) ELECTION

The Student Electoral Committee would like to inform the entire student body of NISU Batad Campus for the upcoming Supreme Student Council (SSC) Election.

All interested students who aspire to serve the studentry are encouraged to participate and ensure that they meet the qualifications set forth in the Constitution and By-Laws of the Supreme Student Council.

ARTICLE X
QUALIFICATIONS OF THE SSC OFFICERS

Section 1. PRESIDENT AND VICE PRESIDENT
A. Should have at least one (1) academic year residence in the University under the undergraduate program.
B. Should have a general average grade not less than 2.0 (85%) for a semester prior to the election.
C. Should not have grades of 3.0 (75%) or lower for a semester prior to the election.
D. Should not be holding any position in the Department Organization or other registered Student Organization.
E. The President must not be a graduating student at the time of the election.
F. He/She must not have any Incomplete grades (INC).

Section 2. SENATORS
A. Should have at least one (1) academic year residence in the University under the undergraduate programs.
B. He/She must not be holding any position in the Department Organization or other registered Student Organization.
C. He/She must not be a member of the University Electoral Committee.
D. Should not have grades of 3.0 (75%) or lower for a semester prior to the election.
E. He/She must not have any Incomplete grades (INC).

Section 3. GOVERNORS
A. Should have at least one (1) academic year residence in the University under the undergraduate programs.
B. He/She must not be holding any position in the Department Organization or other registered Student Organization.
C. He/She must not be a member of the University Electoral Committee.
D. Should not have grades of 3.0 (75%) or lower for a semester prior to the election.
E. He/She must not have any Incomplete grades (INC).

The Student Electoral Committee encourages all qualified students to take part in this democratic process and become instruments of leadership, service, and student empowerment.

The Board of Regents, through the Office of the Board Secretary, hereby publicly announces the appointment of DR. RAFFY B. CHAVEZ as the 2nd University President of Northern Iloilo State University.

The Board of Regents convened for a Special Board Meeting at the CHED Central Office on April 23, 2026, presided over by CHED Chairperson Dr. Shirley C. Agrupis, during which the appointment was formally approved.

NISU Batad Holds Caravan for 4th University Anniversary

BATAD, Iloilo — Northern Iloilo State University (NISU) Batad Campus held a caravan on Thursday morning, April 23, 2026, as part of its fourth university anniversary celebration.

The activity began at 7:30 a.m. at the NISU Batad Campus and was participated in by students, faculty, and staff.

The caravan moved through several areas, including Caw-i, Cabaguhan, Binon-an, Embarcadero, Jolog, Tanao, Daan Banwa, Lumbia, Calapdan, Lonoy, Cano-an, Tabuan, Villa Panian, Sta. Ana, and Batad Viejo, before returning to the campus.

The caravan formed part of the university’s broader anniversary activities promoting unity and community engagement.

SSC Leads Fun Run to Kick Off NISU 4th University Week Caravan

BATAD, Iloilo — The Supreme Student Council (SSC) led a fun run on Thursday morning, April 23, 2026 (6:30am), to formally open the celebration of the 4th University Week of Northern Iloilo State University (NISU) Batad Campus.

The activity gathered university employees at the campus assembly area, where participants convened prior to the start of the run. The initiative aimed to promote physical wellness, camaraderie, and active participation among members of the academic community.

The fun run also served as a prelude to the day’s scheduled caravan at 7:30am, energizing participants and setting a positive tone for the series of activities lined up for the university week celebration.

Dr. Veminrose A. Clariza-Samuel, NISU Batad Administrator, encouraged employees to take part in the event, highlighting its role in strengthening unity and fostering a spirit of collaboration within the institution.

The conduct of the fun run reflects the university’s continued commitment to holistic development by integrating health, engagement, and community-building into its institutional activities.

As part of the celebration of the 4th Anniversary of Northern Iloilo State University (NISU), the NISU Batad Campus will conduct a caravan activity on April 23, 2026 (Thursday) at 7:30 in the morning, with the participation of students, faculty, and staff. The activity will commence at the NISU Batad Campus. Through this activity, the university community is given the opportunity to collectively celebrate NISU’s milestones while extending its presence to nearby areas.

The designated route of the caravan will begin at NISU Batad Campus, passing through Caw-i, Cabaguhan, Binon-an, Embarcadero, Jolog, Tanao, Daan Banwa, Lumbia, Calapdan, Lonoy, Cano-an, Tabuan, Villa Panian, Sta. Ana, and Batad Viejo, before returning to the campus.

Participation from all members of the university community is highly encouraged. Organizers are also calling for cooperation from participants to ensure a safe, orderly, and successful conduct of the activity. Proper coordination with assigned personnel and adherence to safety guidelines are expected throughout the duration of the caravan.

The NISU Batad Caravan reflects the institution’s commitment to unity and active community involvement as it celebrates four years of service and excellence.
