Warmly welcoming the 𝟯𝟳 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝗾𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗲𝗿𝘀 of the 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 𝗗𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆–𝗦𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗘𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘁𝘂𝘁𝗲 (𝗗𝗢𝗦𝗧-𝗦𝗘𝗜) 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗮𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺 𝗶𝗻 𝗜𝗹𝗼𝗰𝗼𝘀 𝗡𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗲, DOST Ilocos Norte conducted an orientation for the scholars and their parents at the Mariano Marcos State University-Batac Student Center on June 23, 2026.

The program featured an orientation on 𝗚𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁, as well as discussions on the benefits, obligations, and responsibilities of DOST scholars to help participants better understand the DOST-SEI Scholarship Program.

An inspiring message and a scholar-sharing session also encouraged the incoming scholars to pursue excellence, service, and integrity while using science and technology to contribute to nation-building.

Marking the beginning of their journey as 𝗳𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝘀𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹𝘀, the orientation aimed to equip the new scholars with essential information about the DOST-SEI Scholarship Program. 🌟

𝗠𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗠𝗜𝗡𝗗𝗦 𝗘𝗺𝗯𝗮𝗿𝗸 𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝗧𝗧𝗣+ 𝗜𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗝𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗲𝘆

From June 17–21, 2026, the MasterMINDS Team of the Movement of Ilocos Norte DOST Scholars (MINDS), composed of DOST-SEI scholars from Mariano Marcos State University, participated in the Scholars Technopreneurship Training Program Plus (STTP+) Phase 1 Kick-Off and Bootcamp 1 held at Quest Plus Hotel, Filinvest City, Alabang, Muntinlupa City.

The bootcamp brought together scholars from across the country to strengthen their competencies in innovation, ideation, systems thinking, and technopreneurship. Participants were welcomed by Ms. Cynthia T. Gayya, Chief Science Research Specialist of DOST-SEI, and inspired by the keynote message of DOST Secretary Dr. Renato U. Solidum Jr., who challenged scholars to embody the vision of “Agham na Ramdam” through innovations that create meaningful impact for communities.

The program also featured insightful sessions and discussions led by distinguished speakers including Ms. Susana F. Esquivel, Mr. Robby I. Reyes, Dr. Jayeel S. Cornelio, Engr. Jeremy De Leon of Jeremake Innovations, Ms. Giselle Jipos of Livro Systems Inc., Engr. Jomar Caceres of Focal Labs, and Dr. Maria Inez Angela Ponce De Leon of Ateneo de Manila University.

Through fireside chats, innovation workshops, and paradigm-shifting discussions, participants gained valuable perspectives on entrepreneurship and people-centered science. The event marks the beginning of a six-month innovation journey under the STTP+ program, where scholars will continue to refine their ideas, build collaborative solutions, and transform identified societal challenges into meaningful, science-based innovations.
