About MMSU College of Computing and Information Sciences
The Department of Computing and Information Science (formerly Department of Computer Science) is a degree-granting department under the College of Arts and Sciences offering Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Bachelor of Science in Information Technology, and Master in Information Technology. The department is composed of 14 competent faculty members, who handle the IT general education subject, as well as CS and IT major subjects. Goals
The program aims to develop a well-rounded individual while focusing on the development of his analytical and critical mind, giving the necessary technical skills to develop concrete solutions to problems specifically in the field of computing sciences, information technology and systems analysis and development. Objectives
• To produce students with the theoretical and practical skills that will enhance their productivity, efficiency, and effectiveness as computer science professionals;
• To prepare students for careers in computing sciences, information technology, and computer education;
• To generate students with the professional expertise to enable them to assume relevant positions in business, government, and the academe;
• To enable students to develop researches and engage them in community service; and
• To develop in the students social, political, and environmental values so as to become better member of the society.
