Roblox games will no longer use global User IDs, instead users will now be given a new User ID unique to each game they join.

roblox.com and core platform features (friends, chat, avatar, etc.) will continue to use Global User IDs internally. Scoped IDs only apply to how players are identified within games and OAuth apps.

📢 Roblox Update: Kids & Select Accounts – Access Rules You Need To Know

Launching globally early June 2026, Roblox’s new Kids & Select accounts (for users under 16) follow clear engagement-based eligibility rules:

🔹 When access is restricted
If your game records fewer than 100 highly engaged players over any 60-day period, it will no longer be available to users under 16. You will receive an alert in your Creator Hub if your experience is at risk.
Note: Your game remains fully playable by age-verified 16+ users and your trusted friends even after this change.

🔹 How to regain access automatically
Eligibility is restored as soon as your game reaches 500 highly engaged players over a 60-day window — no fees, applications or manual approval required.

🔹 Check your status anytime
Visit the Audience Reach tab in your game’s Creator Hub dashboard to view current eligibility and metrics.

Soon, Roblox will no longer require a Plus/Premium subscription as the only way to publish new games accessible to all ages, including users under 16.

Instead, once your game has completed the full evaluation and content check process, you can choose to pay a one-time publishing fee of 1,000 Robux per game. This fee will be fully refunded to you after three months — unless your game is permanently moderated, banned, or removed from the platform for breaking Community Standards during that period.

There are two other ways to qualify without paying anything: if you’ve held an active Plus/Premium subscription for 2 consecutive months, or if your account already qualifies for free Roblox Plus for 6 months. Both options let you publish to all ages automatically. Previously published games will not be affected at all, and will remain available and published for free as before.

This update will launch on May 19 in New Zealand, the Netherlands, Australia, and Indonesia — the first regions where Roblox Kids and Select accounts are available. It will be rolled out to every country globally in early June.

If you’ve been building games in the background, FRDA wants to know you exist.
⁣
The FRDA Developer Registry is now open for Filipino Roblox game developers ages 18 and above — and yes, it’s completely free.
⁣
By registering, you can be listed in FRDA’s system as a Filipino Roblox developer and submit up to 3 Roblox games to the FRDA Game Directory. Submitted games will be reviewed for ownership, safety, and appropriateness before publication.
⁣
This is our first step toward building a more organized and credible space for local Roblox talent — one where Filipino developers can be connected to the work they create, and where Filipino-made Roblox games can be easier to find.
⁣
As FRDA grows, we also plan to introduce verifiable digital member IDs that can help developers build trust with prospective clients, along with a future job board for eligible developers.

It’s been a month since the March 31 stakeholder meeting on Roblox in the Philippines.
⁣
FRDA was honored to be invited to help represent the Roblox creator community in the discussion with CICC, DICT, and other stakeholders.
⁣
At the time, concerns around Roblox were at a high point, and we were grateful for the opportunity to help make the side of Filipino Roblox creators part of the conversation.
⁣
Since then, Roblox has responded to the concerns raised and, to the best of our knowledge, has continued engaging with the Philippine government on the matter.
⁣
While the issue is not fully behind us yet, we remain cautiously optimistic that the outcome can support both child safety and the welfare of the creator community.
⁣
FRDA will continue to follow these developments and take part in conversations where Filipino Roblox developers and creators deserve to be heard.
