Last March 26, 2026, through the efforts of our association representative and the generosity of Governor Patrick Azanza, we were able to distribute 150 kilos of rice to support our fellow surfers affected by the continuous rise in gasoline prices.

Kasama ang mga miyembro ng Majestic Baras Surfers and Instructor Association, this initiative is a reminder that beyond the surfboards and tides, we look out for one another.

✨𝐏𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬: 𝗡𝗼𝘄 𝟕,𝟔𝟒𝟏 𝐈𝐬𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐬 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝟳,𝟭𝟬𝟳!

✅ The Philippines officially has 7,641 islands, a number that increased from the previously recognized 7,107 islands after advanced mapping study using high-resolution satellite imaging. This update came after a more detailed mapping study conducted by the National Mapping and Resource Information Authority (NAMRIA).

Discovery: New, mostly tiny and uninhabited islands were identified.

This cements the Philippines as a stunning archipelago with endless opportunities for exploration!

🎄 CHRISTMAS CHICKEN DONATION 🎄

Last December 13, 2025, we were blessed to distribute the remaining funds from our donation drive by providing one whole chicken to families in the Puraran Community.

Our goal was to reach 110 households in Puraran and 9 households from the surfer community of San Miguel.

This small yet meaningful initiative was held in the spirit of the Christmas season—to share joy, hope, and warmth with families who were affected by Super Typhoon Uwan last November.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who donated and made this possible. Your generosity helped bring smiles and comfort to many families during the holidays.

Merry Christmas to all, and thank you for spreading kindness! 🎁✨

Recovery in Puraran is slowly progressing.

Thanks to the support of donors, local guides, and volunteers, many resorts and the surf community are beginning to get back on their feet after the typhoon.

While some accommodations are already open, others are still under repair, and relief efforts continue to ensure everyone can safely enjoy our island.

We appreciate everyone’s patience and support as we continue to rebuild together. 🌊

We will be updating for our next christmas relief that will happen before Christmas. Thanks again for everyone's help. 🙏🙏🙏

Typhoon Uwan brought a 12-15meters wave to the beach side of Puraran, Baras and engulfed everything made of wood, metal, and anything light. It only left cement structures, and debris from the 3 main resorts of the beachfront side.

Not only did it bring a wave of destruction but the winds it carried brought lands to fall. Landslides, trees, and everything that stood still was brought down.

May we pray for the families and locals that were affected by this Super Typhoon.

We know it has affected other parts of our island, Catanduanes, and other parts of the Philippines.

Let us extend our prayers and we pray for the recovery of our beloved place. Many of our locals here found work and shelter in the places that are now scattered and covered by the destruction of the Super Typhoon, Uwan.

As of now, we are all still recovering and cleaning up. No electricity for awhile, i am only writing this message because we are able to power a generator for only a few hours.
