The PUP College of Education recently held an in-house review program, facilitated by Ma'am Dina Grace T. Magnaye, PhD, along with PUP Bansud LANEASS. Designed to enhance both foundational and advanced mathematical competencies, the initiative brought together distinguished educators to lead comprehensive sessions covering key areas of mathematics.
On December 13, 2025, the review kicked off with History of Mathematics handled by Sir Lyndon Joseph S. Fampulme, who expertly traced the evolution of mathematical concepts and their real-world impact across civilizations. Following this, College and Advanced Algebra was delivered by Ma'am Mary Anne Araza-Orgeta, whose clear explanations and practical examples helped participants master complex algebraic principles with confidence.
On December 19, 2025, Problem-solving, Mathematical Investigation, and Modelling was led by Dr. Harvim B. Cantillano, LPT, CHRA, who guided learners in applying mathematical thinking to tackle real-life scenarios creatively. The day concluded with Calculus 1 by Sir Ian Joseph Saguindan, who made differential and integral concepts approachable through step-by-step instruction and practice problems.
Originally set for December 27, 2025 and January 10, 2026, sessions were rescheduled to January 17, 2026, to accommodate participantsโ needs. The day featured Calculus 2 by Sir Ian J. Saguindan, building on previous lessons to explore more advanced calculus applications. Logic and Set Theory was taught by Ma'am Jonna Rissa Glomar-Alulod, who emphasized the importance of logical reasoning as a core mathematical skill. The session wrapped up with Trigonometry by Ma'am Lovelyn L. Chen, who simplified angle relationships and trigonometric functions with engaging demonstrations.
The final day of the review took place on January 24, 2026, focusing on pedagogical and statistical topics. Principles and Strategies in Teaching Mathematics and Elementary Statistics and Probability were both presented by Sir John Paul S. Jamilla, LPT, who shared effective teaching methods and essential statistical tools for data analysis. Advanced Statistics was then led by Ma'am Alyssia Maguad, who delved into complex statistical models and their practical uses in various fields.
This in-house review program has successfully equipped participants with a strong understanding of key mathematical disciplines, from foundational concepts to advanced applications. A heartfelt thank you to every participant for your dedication, patience through rescheduling, and active engagement throughout the sessions. As you move forward in your academic or professional journey, may the knowledge and skills you have gained serve as a strong foundation for your successโbest of luck in all your future endeavors! ๐โจ
