UPDATE| Financial Independence of the Sangguniang Kabataan in the Municipality of Banaybanay

As of today, we are happy to announce that ALL fourteen (14) barangays in the Municipality of Banaybanay are now confirmed as bonded accountable officials of the Bureau of Treasury. Ten (10) SK Councils have already opened an SK Bank Account at Landbank of the Philippines (LBP) while four (4) SK Councils are expected to finish the process and open an SK Bank Account this week.

As stated in Section 20 of RA 10742, known as the Sangguniang Kabataan Reform Act of 2015, the Sangguniang Kabataan shall have financial independence in its operations, disbursements and encashment of their fund, income and expenditures.

As such, the Sangguniang Kabataan funds shall be deposited in the name of the Sangguniang Kabataan of the concerned barangay in a government-owned bank situated in or nearest to its area of jurisdiction with the Sangguniang Kabataan Chairperson and the Sangguniang Kabataan Treasurer as the official signatories.
