GEOGRAPHIC SUMMARY OF INDIGENOUS GROUPS & COMMUNITIES IN PAMPANGA AND TARLAC
The A.V.A.S. Foundation Inc. — Advancing Values through Action and Sustainability recognizes the rich cultural heritage, ancestral rights, and important contributions of our Indigenous Peoples in Central Luzon.
Our communities are not simply identified as one single “Aeta” group. Pampanga and Tarlac are home to different Ayta/Aeta Indigenous Cultural Communities, each with their own history, language, traditions, ancestral territories, and community organizations.
📍 PAMPANGA
🟢 Ayta Mag-Indi
Primarily found in Porac, Floridablanca, and surrounding ancestral-domain areas. The Ayta Mag-Indi are among the major Indigenous communities in western Pampanga, with established ancestral-domain territories and communities.
🟢 Ayta Mag-Antsi
Communities are found particularly in Porac, Mabalacat, Sapangbato, and surrounding areas. They share cultural and linguistic connections with other Ayta communities of the Central Luzon mountain ranges.
🟢 Aeta/Ayta Communities of Mabalacat and Western Pampanga
These communities are also located around Mabalacat, the Clark area, Sapangbato, and other parts of western Pampanga, including communities connected to ancestral domains extending toward Tarlac.
📍 TARLAC
🟠 Ayta Mag-Antsi
Found particularly in Bamban, Capas, and surrounding communities, forming an important part of the Indigenous population in the Tarlac mountain areas.
🟠 Ayta Abellen / Abelling / Aburlin
Communities associated with Capas, Mayantoc, San Clemente, San Jose, and surrounding mountain areas. These communities have their own distinct cultural and linguistic identity within the broader Ayta/Aeta population.
🟠 Other Aeta Communities
Various Aeta communities continue to live in different sitios, barangays, and mountain areas of Tarlac, maintaining their traditional culture and connection to their ancestral lands.
🔵 PAMPANGA–TARLAC INDIGENOUS CORRIDOR
One particularly important area is the Bamban, Tarlac ↔ Mabalacat, Pampanga corridor, where Aeta communities are associated with CADT No. 025-A. This demonstrates that Indigenous ancestral territories and communities do not always follow modern provincial boundaries.

Help Indigenous children and young people access education, scholarships, skills development, seminars, and training.

Extend assistance during disasters and emergencies while supporting long-term community welfare.

Protect Indigenous traditions, identity, knowledge, culture, and the voices of Indigenous communities.
🏞️ ANCESTRAL DOMAIN DEVELOPMENT
Support responsible and sustainable development that respects Indigenous rights and the importance of ancestral lands.
AVAS Foundation believes that development must include the people who have protected these lands and forests for generations.
We stand with our Ayta Mag-Indi, Ayta Mag-Antsi, Ayta Abellen/Abelling, Aeta communities, and other Indigenous Cultural Communities throughout Pampanga and Tarlac.
