This recognition stands as a testament to our shared passion for inclusivity, unity, and empowerment.

Municipal CSO Accreditation Unlocked –

Another Milestone for Marina LGBTQIA+ Baler

With the initiative of the MSWDO and the Sangguniang Bayan of Baler, Marina LGBTQIA+ Baler has formally submitted its requirements for CSO Accreditation, which will soon undergo screening.

This effort is part of the legacy of our late President JaniceSernadilla, who first envisioned and began this important step for our organization. Her commitment to representation and inclusion continues to inspire us today.

Under the rule of succession, our new President Ding Sollegue, now leads Marina LGBTQIA+ Baler to carry on this mission for the remainder of the late President’s term.

We sincerely thank Buklod Aurora LGBTQIA++ Federation President, Hon. June Cel D. Gutierrez, for assisting President Sollegue in the preparation and submission of all pertinent documents for accreditation.

In accordance with the rule of succession and with the unanimous concurrence of the officers, the Marina LGBTQIA++ Baler proudly affirms the succession of Mx. Felizardo "Ding" Sollegue as the new President.

This succession comes following the untimely passing of our beloved late President, Mx. Reynoso "Janice" Sernadilla, whose legacy of love, courage, and service will forever remain in our hearts.

President Sollegue will faithfully serve and continue the mission and vision of Marina for the remaining portion of the late President’s term.

Together, let us honor the memory of president Janice by supporting President Ding as we move forward with unity, pride, and purpose.

May mga taong dumaraan lamang sa ating buhay, at mayroon ding nagsisilbing isang ilaw na nagbigay ng kulay at pag-asa sa komunidad.

Bilang Pangulo at isa sa mga nagtatag ng Marina LGBT, hindi lamang siya naging lider, kundi naging kaibigan, kapatid, mentor, at inspirasyon. Sa kanyang sipag, tapang, at malasakit, naitaguyod niya ang boses ng LGBT sa Baler at sa buong Aurora.

Ngayon, isang mabigat na pamamaalam na nag-iwan ng lungkot, ngunit higit sa lahat, nag-iwan ng pamana: isang komunidad na mas matatag, mas buo, at mas makulay.

Sa bawat bahaghari, sa bawat laban para sa pagkakapantay-pantay, at sa bawat ngiti ng mga taong kanyang na-inspire, nariyan si Pres. Janice. Kailanman ay hindi sya huminto para maging boses ng makulay ng komunidad. Isa syang huwaran sa lahat.

On July 4, 2025, the vibrant and empowered Marina LGBTQIA++ Baler Community gathered at the Municipal Mayor's Conference Room to discuss our plans and preparations for the Marina Day Celebration this coming August, as part of the Baler Town Fiesta festivities.

GAY LINGO 101: Language, Identity, and LGBTQIA+ Culture πŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆ

Alam mo ba na ang gay lingo ay isang malikhaing wika na ginagamit ng maraming miyembro ng LGBTQIA++ community bilang anyo ng self-expression, identity, at minsan, proteksyon?

Hindi lang ito basta "language of the g**s", ito ay isang buhay na wika na may humor, wit, at puso.

EXAMPLES:
Jowa – boyfriend/girlfriend
Hal: β€œGora na kami ng jowa ko sa beach."

Char/Charot – joke lang, di seryoso
Hal: β€œMagpapakasal na ako… charot lang!”

Kyeme/Kyems – filler word; pwede rin ibig sabihing β€œarte” o β€œeksena”
Hal: β€œNagkyeme pa siya, eh gusto rin naman pala!”

Shokot – takot
Hal: β€œShokot ako sa ex mo, gurl. Mukhang war freak!”

HIV DOESN’T DISCRIMINATE. PEOPLE DO.

Let’s End the Stigma.
Let’s Spread Facts, Not Fear.

FACT: HIV is NOT a β€œgay disease.”

Anyone, regardless of gender, s*xuality, age, or social status can acquire HIV if proper precautions are not taken.

Let’s end the stigma:
"Nakukuha lang ang HIV sa mga bakla.”
Maling-mali ang paniniwalang ito, isang kathang-isip lamang ng mga Homophobic at galit sa LGBTQIA++ Community.

HIV can be transmitted through unprotected s*x, sharing of contaminated needles, or from mother to child during pregnancy or breastfeeding, regardless of s*xual orientation.

Stigma hurts. Silence kills.
Because of fear and discrimination, many people are afraid to get tested or seek help. This worsens the spread and delays early treatment.

What we should do instead:
βœ… Educate ourselves and others
βœ… Promote safe practices and regular testing
βœ… Support those living with HIV without judgment
βœ… Speak out against discrimination

People living with HIV deserve compassion, respect, and access to healthcare, not shame, discrimination or disgust.

Get tested. Get treated. Get informed.
Together, we can build a society that is safe, accepting, and stigma-free.

Health is a right, not a privilege.
