Tomorrow, July 07 (1:30 AM PhST), the Earth will be at its farthest distance from the Sun for 2026. Despite this, there are no expected direct effects on the global climate or sunshine.

𝗗𝗶𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄? Rather than a perfect circle, the Earth's orbit around the Sun is elliptical or slightly oval-shaped. There are points in the Earth's journey where it will be at its closest and farthest from the Sun.

At aphelion, the Earth will be 𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝗳𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝘂𝗻 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿. The word aphelion comes from the Greek words "apo" (meaning "away from") and "helios" (meaning "Sun"). For tomorrow’s aphelion, the Earth will be around 152,087,775 kilometers from the Sun, or about 𝟭.𝟰% 𝗳𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝘂𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝗮𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗴𝗲.

NATIONAL DISASTER RESILIENCE MONTH 2026

As we begin the celebration of National Disaster Resilience Month starting tomorrow, July 1, 2026, the Pararao National High School – Alliance of Emergency Guardians for Intervention and Safety (PNHS AEGIS Club) joins the nation in promoting a culture of preparedness, resilience, and community responsibility.

This year’s celebration reminds us that disaster resilience is a shared responsibility. Through awareness, preparedness, and collective action, we can protect lives, reduce risks, and build safer and stronger communities.

🛡️ This July, let us:
✅ Stay informed through official advisories.
✅ Prepare emergency kits and family emergency plans.
✅ Participate in disaster preparedness activities.
