𝗬𝟰𝗦 𝗘𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻 𝗦𝗮𝗺𝗮𝗿 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗟𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗚𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗹𝘆 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲

On March 22, 2026 (Sunday), Y4S conducted the Local General Assembly held at JCSFCC Brgy. Poblacion 1, Balangiga, Eastern Samar. The event was participated by Y4S members, church leaders from JCSFCC and youth & children community members.

This local youth assembly marked the genesis of the new set of Y4S local youth officers in the province that will lead the organization to achieving its vision and mission for the betterment and positive growth of children and youth in the community.

Community Stakeholders Unite: Psychological First Aid Training by World Vision

The Youth for Safety - Eastern Samar chapter took part during the Psychological First Aid Training organized and facilitated by World Vision held at Hotel Alejandro, Tacloban City. Y4S Youth Mobilizer Ms. Christine Joy Sasi attended the said training along with several representatives from the different sectors in Balangiga who are working directly with the children and adolescent youth — LGU representatives from the office of Local Youth Development, Rural Health Unit, Municipal Police Station's (MPS) Women and Child Protection Desk (WCPD), school heads and teachers from DepEd Balangiga, representatives from the Barangay Local Government Unit, representatives from faith-based organizations as well as community volunteers of World Vision.

Through this 3-day training, participants were able to learn how faith and spirituality is essential to mental health especially in the Philippine context, also highlighted in the discussion were the lessons on how people of faith from the Bible responded to the most challenging seasons of their lives while serving God. Consequently, the concept of psychological first aid, self-care tips, grounding and relaxing techniques were taught and practiced by the participants during the duration of the training.

The organization is grateful to World Vision for this opportunity to engage in learning with fellow community workers in order to create a safe and nurturing community for the children and youth.

Y4S Eastern Samar facilitated today, January 24, 2026 the Rollout of Y4S Operations Handbook to Y4S members and new members alike with the aim to formally orient members of the organization of the said handbook and its practical applications.

Also in attendance are youth leaders of JCSFCC church and the Chairperson of the Sangguniang Kabataan of Barangay Poblacion One, Balangiga E. Samar, Hon. Dominador Alensuas, Jr.

The organization is grateful to everyone for the efforts to continually strengthen the partnerships, align our shared vision of empowering the next generation.

• To formally present and orient participants on the Y4S Policy Operations Handbook and its practical application

• To conduct a Youth and Children’s Planning Session for A.Y. 2026, ensuring inclusive and participatory inputs; and

•To strengthen collaboration among the youth, leaders from faith-based and community-based organizations, and stakeholders in advancing youth- and child-centered initiatives.

"Strengthening our fight against Online Sexual Abuse and Exploitation of Children (OSAEC)! 🌟 The ANTI-OSAEC Flipchart Roll-out on May 26, 2025, was a significant milestone in empowering communities with vital information and resources to protect our children. 🌈 This initiative is a crucial step towards creating a healthier and safer future for our youth, where they can thrive without fear of exploitation. 🌟

We're proud to announce that this effort is further strengthened by our partnerships with local leaders! 🤝 Recently, we signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the SK Chairpersons of Barangay 01 and Barangay 06, as well as the Local Youth Development Office (LYDO) of Balangiga. 🌟 These partnerships will enable us to work together in preventing OSAEC and promoting a safe and supportive environment for our children.
