Maligayang Araw ng Kagitingan! 🇵🇭☀️

Ang Araw ng Kagitingan o kilala rin bilang Araw ng Bataan o Araw ng Bataan at Corregidor, ay isang pagtalima sa Pilipinas kung saan ginugunita ang pagbagsak ng Bataan noong ika-9 ng Abril 1942 sa kasagsagan ng Ikalawang Digmaang Pandaigdig.

Ating gunitain ang mga sundalong Pilipino at Amerikanong nanindigan laban sa puwersa ng Hapon noong Ikalawang Digmaang Pandaigdig. Sa kabila ng hirap at panganib, matapang nilang ipinaglaban ang Bataan na sentro noon ng pagdepensa ng bansa.

Alam niyo bang ilan sa mga nakipaglaban para sa Pilipinas ay mga ordinaryong mamamayan tulad ng mga manggagawa, magsasaka at mag-aaral? Marami ring mga kabataan at kababaihang nagpamalas ng lakas at pagmamahal sa bayan.

Mula sa inspirasyong ibinigay ng ating magigiting na beterano ng digmaan, patuloy tayong magkaisa sa pagharap sa mga hamon ng kasalukuyang panahon. Nawa'y magpatuloy ang diwa ng pagtutulungan sa bawat mamamayang Pilipino.

𝐒𝐄𝐕𝐄𝐍 𝐋𝐀𝐒𝐓 𝐖𝐎𝐑𝐃𝐒 𝐎𝐅 𝐉𝐄𝐒𝐔𝐒

VII. IT IS FINISHED.
- JOHN 19:30

In Mark 15:37 we read, “With a loud cry, Jesus breathed his last.” According to Bible scholars, this “loud cry” may have been those very last words that John records, “It is finished.”

He spoke it out loud. He declared it for all to hear. He uttered a loud cry to His Father in heaven for the whole world to know, and for every evil force to have to flee, for Christ’s work on the cross was complete.

Done. Accomplished. Paid in full.

Last words have power. And often, deep meaning and significance.

And if like me, any of you have ever been at the side of a precious friend or family member who was whispering final words in their last moments here on earth, you know the incredible heart connection they hold for you, personally. We often find ourselves clinging to those words as we think about a loved one who has passed away. We treasure what they said and we remember…

There’s no doubt that Jesus knew what His last words needed to be here in this life. He knew the power those final words would have for generations still to come. And He had great purpose in them, which still breathe such life and meaning for our lives today.

Jesus was communicating that the work he came for was accomplished. The task of earning the salvation of the world was completed in his work on the cross. No more additions or adjustments were necessary – salvation was completed.

When Jesus had received the sour wine, he said, "It is finished," and he bowed his head and gave up his spirit. Luke 23:45b-46: And the curtain of the temple was torn in two.

𝐒𝐄𝐕𝐄𝐍 𝐋𝐀𝐒𝐓 𝐖𝐎𝐑𝐃𝐒 𝐎𝐅 𝐉𝐄𝐒𝐔𝐒

VI. FATHER, INTO YOUR HANDS I COMMIT MY SPIRIT.
-LUKE 23:46

Jesus didn't only place His life and being in the hands of God at death. He did it in His life. Let's do the same thing. Let's affirm not only at death, but in our lives, that we belong to God. Into God's hands let us entrust our spirits, right here and right now.

The sun was darkened, and the veil of the temple was torn down the middle. Then Jesus called out in a loud voice, “Father, into Your hands I commit My Spirit.” And when He had said this, He breathed His last. When the centurion saw what had happened, he gave glory to God, saying, “Surely this was a righteous man.”…

The moment we are saved, we commit our spirits into the Father’s hands; we trust Him for our salvation. From then on, life is lived in a day-to-day commitment of our spirits into the Father’s hands. We commit our spirits to Him in our service to Him, in our daily decisions, and in all our joys and sorrows. And, when the time of our death comes, we follow Jesus’ example and say yet again, “Father, into your hands I commit my spirit.”
