Care, Save, Immortalize: Earth or popularly known as CSI:Earth is an environmental organization which serves as a channel for unifying all members of Bataan Peninsula State University and the community towards environmental consciousness and awareness. HISTORY

The Bataan Peninsula State University considers education as the key to respond to this noble call. Being aware of the importance of envir

onmental activism and the role of the youth in reviving the spirit of of nature, Care Save Immortalize : Earth, a mission-oriented activity was successfully launched on October 13, 2009 in partial fulfillment of the course requirements in PHYS202 Environmental Science under the Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering program of the College of Engineering and Architecture, BPSU - Main Campus, City of Balanga, Bataan. Historically, the culminating activity got its name from the American police procedural television series known as Crime Scene Investigation (CSI: NY, Miami and Las Vegas), which features an investigation team as they unveil the circumstances behind mysterious and unusual death within their jurisdiction. Similarly, CSI:EARTH was conceptualized to probe the circumstances related to the degradation of the environment.

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗗𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗮𝘅 𝗦𝗮𝘆?: "𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀" 𝗔𝘁 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻'𝘀 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲

There is an old habit humanity never seems to outgrow: we borrow from the Earth as though tomorrow will never come. We flatten mountains, drain rivers, and replace forests with concrete, then call it progress as if giving loss a beautiful name makes it any less of a tragedy.

That question now stands before Pax Silica, a proposed 1,620-hectare high-tech manufacturing and innovation hub in New Clark City, Tarlac. Envisioned as the country's gateway to artificial intelligence, semiconductors, electronics, and critical minerals, the project is expected to attract $40-$70 billion in investments and generate up to 190,000 jobs, according to the Bases for Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA).

The vision is undeniably inspiring. Who wouldn't want a future where Filipino talent no longer has to leave home to succeed?

But every promise of progress carries a price. The real question is: who will be asked to pay it?

𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝘀𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝗵𝗮𝘀 𝗮 𝘄𝗮𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘂𝘀 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗼 𝗹𝗲𝘁 𝗴𝗼.

Spring teaches us to begin. Summer teaches us to grow. Autumn teaches us that even the most beautiful things must one day fall, not because they have reached their end, but because they have fulfilled their purpose.

Today, CSI: Earth stands in its own autumn.

𝗧𝗼 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗱𝘂𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗖𝗦𝗜:𝗘𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗵, thank you for giving pieces of yourselves to this organization. Thank you for every late night, every challenge you embraced, every idea you brought to life, and every moment you chose to stay when leaving would've been easier.

Tomorrow, another season will begin. New hands will carry the banners. New footsteps will wander the paths you once walked. The trees will bloom again.

But every blossom will carry the memory of the leaves that first taught the branches how to let go.

So wherever the wind chooses to carry you next, may you never forget that somewhere within this forest you helped nurture, pieces of your story will continue to grow long after your footsteps have faded.

One day, someone will ask what we did when the rivers were getting dirtier, when forests kept disappearing, and when climate change stopped being just another headline.

"𝙄 𝙘𝙖𝙧𝙚𝙙."

Hopefully, that's not where our answer ends.

Because caring is a good place to start, but action is what leaves a mark.

Maybe it's time to let your actions speak louder than your concern.

Perhaps all it takes is one person willing to take the first step. Every movement begins with someone who chooses not to stay on the sidelines. And who knows? Maybe this is your "one day."

𝑫𝒆𝒍𝒂 𝑪𝒓𝒖𝒛 𝑺𝒓. together with 𝑫𝒓. 𝑹𝒖𝒃𝒚 𝑺𝒂𝒏𝒕𝒐𝒔-𝑴𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒃𝒂𝒈, President of Bataan Peninsula State University. The gathering emphasized that genuine climate action goes beyond reducing carbon emissions. It is equally about strengthening communities, protecting livelihoods, ensuring agricultural sovereignty, restoring ecosystems, and building long-term resilience against the growing impacts of climate change.

Among the summit's key highlights was the presentation of innovative and science-based solutions for sustainable agriculture. Discussions focused on precision farming through drip irrigation, precision nutrient management, data-driven farming technologies, and the ACIAR Soil Health Project, all of which aim to improve soil health, increase agricultural productivity, conserve natural resources, and enhance the resilience of local farming communities.

Bringing together experts and representatives from government agencies, academia, civil society, and the private sector, the summit convened distinguished leaders whose expertise and commitment continue to strengthen climate action across the province. Among them were Prof. Reynan C. Calderon, Vice President for Research, Extension and Technology Transfer of Bataan Peninsula State University; Rev. Fr. Reynor Munsayac, Executive Vice President of Colegio de San Juan de Letran; Ms. Allyson Santos, Chief Executive Officer of EcoSaver and Secretary of the ASEAN Carbon Market Sustainability; Ms. Ruth Zamudio Rance of the Climate Change Task Force; Climate Change Commission Commissioner Atty. Richard Bihasa; Mr. Joseph C. Manicad of the Department of Agriculture – High Value Crops Development Program (DA-HVCDP); Mr. Glenn Paul Flores of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources – Environment and Natural Resources Office (DENR ENRO); Atty. Roman A. Antonio of the National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP); Mr. Rommel Q. Casapao, Regional Focal Person of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD); Ms. Cindy Pineda, Head of the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO); and Sangguniang Bayan Members Neil Patrick Dela Rosa and Jorge Xy-Ril Teopengco, together with Association of Barangay Captains (ABC) President Renan Torres of the Municipality of Bagac.

Their shared insights and collective efforts reinforced the value of multi-sectoral collaboration in advancing environmental conservation, strengthening climate resilience, and accelerating sustainable development throughout Bataan.

Another significant highlight of the summit was the recognition of the newly sworn members of the Climate Change Task Force, which included students and members of the Aeta Magbukon community. Their participation symbolizes the growing commitment of youth and Indigenous Peoples to environmental stewardship and climate resilience, reinforcing the importance of inclusive and community-driven climate action. As emerging champions of sustainability, they represent a new generation of leaders dedicated to protecting natural resources, strengthening local resilience, and helping shape a more sustainable future for Bataan.

For Care, Save, Immortalize: Earth, participation in the Bataan Climate Action Summit 2026 reaffirmed the organization's commitment to empowering communities, promoting environmental awareness, and strengthening partnerships that inspire collective action for a more sustainable future. The summit served as a reminder that every initiative, every collaboration, and every individual who chooses to act contributes to building a healthier and more resilient environment for present and future generations.

As the challenges of climate change continue to grow, so must our determination to respond. Through science, innovation, collaboration, and the enduring 𝑭𝒊𝒍𝒊𝒑𝒊𝒏𝒐 𝒔𝒑𝒊𝒓𝒊𝒕 𝒐𝒇 𝒃𝒂𝒚𝒂𝒏𝒊𝒉𝒂𝒏, we can collectively build a greener, more resilient, and sustainable Bataan.

As we present the 𝘼𝙘𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙥𝙡𝙞𝙨𝙝𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙍𝙚𝙥𝙤𝙧𝙩 of 𝘾𝙖𝙧𝙚, 𝙎𝙖𝙫𝙚, 𝙄𝙢𝙢𝙤𝙧𝙩𝙖𝙡𝙞𝙯𝙚: 𝙀𝙖𝙧𝙩𝙝 for A.Y. 2025-2026, we look back at a journey that was never done alone. Every initiative, every outreach, and every small win for the environment was made possible through strong collaboration and shared purpose.

Along the way, we were guided and supported by partners who made this work more meaningful and grounded in real impact.
