Bataan Animal Welfare Society is urgently seeking the public’s help regarding a disturbing incident involving a cat who was seen being subjected to an act of cruelty.

In the circulating video, a cat can be seen with a leash around its neck before being lifted into the air by an individual, causing the animal to struggle helplessly. The person in the video appeared to show no concern for the cat’s suffering and was seen reacting in a manner that suggested enjoyment of the situation.

This is not acceptable. Animal cruelty is not entertainment, and no innocent animal should ever be treated as a source of amusement.

At this time, the current condition and whereabouts of the cat remain unknown. Bataan Animal Welfare Society is deeply concerned for the animal’s safety and is working to gather information that may lead to the cat’s rescue and the identification of the person responsible.

The account that originally uploaded the video, using the username .xie0, has since been set to private. However, this does not remove the evidence of what happened, nor does it end the need for accountability.

Bataan Animal Welfare Society is appealing to anyone who may have information regarding:
• The identity of the individual in the video
• The location where the incident happened
• The current whereabouts of the cat
• Any details that may help in rescuing the animal and pursuing appropriate action

Factory farming is the greatest source of animal cruelty on Earth.

While the suffering of dogs and cats rightly breaks our hearts, the number of companion animals abused each year is dwarfed by the billions of animals confined, exploited, and slaughtered in factory farms.

If our compassion is measured by the number of victims, then factory farming is the crisis we can no longer afford to ignore.

There's another cost we rarely talk about: inefficiency.

We grow crops, feed them to animals, and recover only a fraction of that energy as food.

To produce just 1 calorie of beef, it takes about 33 calories of feed. For pork, it's roughly 10 to 1. For chicken, more than 8 to 1.

Every step of that conversion demands more land, more water, more energy, and results in greater greenhouse gas emissions—while producing far less food than eating plants directly.

The system isn't just built on suffering. It's built on waste.

Choosing plant-based isn't only an act of compassion for animals—it's one of the most resource-efficient ways to feed a growing world.
