Newly Elected SSGBC Officials Take Oath, a New Chapter of Student Leadership

Newly elected SSGBC officials and appointed SSGBC Executive Committee chairpersons and vice chairpersons took their oath of office today, June 17, 2026, at NORSU Bais Campus 1. The ceremony was attended by the NORSU Bais Campus Acting Campus Director, Dr. Dennis R. Chiu, and NORSU Bais Campus SAS Director and SSGBC Adviser, Ms. Rene P. Dasig.

Dr. Chiu advised the SSGBC officers to serve responsibly and religiously. He shared that his experience as a student leader significantly contributed to his professional life today. He also reminded the student leaders to manage their time effectively by balancing their academic and leadership responsibilities. Furthermore, he assured the officers of his support for SSGBC activities, provided that proper planning and a detailed budget are prepared by the organization.

Following the oath-taking ceremony, a short program and fellowship gathering were held at NORSU Bais Campus 2. During the program, Ms. Dasig delivered her opening remarks. She reminded the student leaders to work as a team, emphasizing that leadership is a collective effort. “Paminaw jud mo sa inyong adviser, kay kami ang nakabalo sa mga proseso aron dili mo ma-bash,” she said.

Meanwhile, newly elected SSGBC President Hon. Niño Kem V. Cadeliña also delivered an inspiring message. “In this group, we have to establish these four foundations: God, service, integrity, and transparency,” he stated. He further emphasized that the SSGBC officers are now entrusted with the responsibility of serving the student body and the academe.

The event concluded with a simple fellowship gathering that brought together the newly elected and appointed leaders. It marked the beginning of a new journey for the new administration, fostering camaraderie and a shared commitment to service.

On June 12‚ 1898‚ beneath the hopeful skies of Kawit‚ Cavite‚ the Philippine flag was raised for the first time as our forefathers declared the freedom they had long fought for. Their strength and heroism echoed from generation to generation, reminding us that independence was not granted for free—it was earned through sacrifices, determination, and unyielding love for our country.

Today, we commemorate the legacy of those who dared to dream of a sovereign Philippines, whose patriotism continue to inspire the nation we proudly call home. As we celebrate Philippine Independence Day, may we protect the liberty they had fought for and carry their legacy through unity, integrity, and transparency. In times when truth is tested, justice is challenged, and in the midst of the ideological divide—may we never lose sight of the values they died for. Let’s continue to love and serve our country with the same passion that once ignited the flame of freedom.
