NEWT Baguio President Eliazar Wayet recieved the "Gawad Gabay Kalikasan Award" From the Officers of the DENR-CAR.

The award commemorates the recognition of the NEWTs volunteer services towards wildlife conservation in the Cordilleras.

The NEWT shall continue to help our community and our wildlife in ensuring a safer and more understanding environment that will help make sure our future generations can appreciate the same animals we have today.

Thank you very much DENR-CAR for the continued support and cooperation and for all our partners, supporters and volunteers.

Troopers from Benguet, Pangasinan NEWT - PB , and Nueva Ecija NEWT - NEB branches together with NEWT and non NEWT veterinarians participated in a 2 day workshop focused on wildlife and exotic pet medicine and wildlife handling, restraint and release.

The workshop was held in Pugad Adventure, Pugo La Union and Neverland Mountain Resort, Tuba, Benguet.

This marks one of the few events where troopers from multiple branches participate in joint activities.

Troopers from 4 different branches (La Union, Baguio, Pangasinan, Nueva Ecija) met up at the first ever Vet Summit Philippines.

The event featured 2 topics regarding exotic animal medicine that gave the troopers insight into the practice. It also allowed the troopers to meet one another and included some alumni from different branches.

May our troopers continue to learn, grow and share what they know to further animal welfare, wildlife conservation and responsible exotic pet keeping.
