HAPPY 39th CORDILLERA DAY from the Indigenous Peoples Education for Arts, Culture and Empowerment, Inc.!

The journey toward the establishment of the Cordillera Administrative Region began with the historic Mount Data Peace Agreement on September 13, 1986, a landmark accord that fostered peace, dialogue, and unity in the region. This momentum was further strengthened by the inclusion of provisions for Cordillera autonomy in the 1987 Philippine Constitution, recognizing the distinct identity, rich cultural heritage, and aspirations of the Cordillera peoples. These defining milestones led to the creation of the Cordillera Administrative Region, uniting the provinces of Abra, Apayao, Benguet, Ifugao, Kalinga, Mountain Province, and the highly urbanized City of Baguio under one administrative region.

Today, as we continue the journey toward genuine regional autonomy, we remain deeply proud of our roots and the enduring legacy of our ancestors. Guided by our shared history, cultures, and values, we honor the sacrifices that brought us this far and stand united in shaping a future that reflects the aspirations, dignity, and self-determination of the Cordilleran people.
