This May 28, FPOP joins the International Day of Action for Womenโ€™s Health in calling for accessible healthcare for every woman and marginalized community. We stand firm in the belief that reproductive health rights are fundamental human rights inextricably linked to the ultimate Right to Life.

Too many women are still denied proper healthcare, accurate information, and the freedom to make decisions about their own bodies.

No woman should ever have her life endangered due to a lack of access to healthcare, information, or autonomous choices.

PH Defending Our Protections:
- The RPRH Law (RA 10354): Mandates universal access to safe, comprehensive reproductive healthcare.

- The Local Government Code (RA 7160): Charges our LGUs with the vital responsibility of delivering primary health services directly to the grassroots.

- Freedom of Thought: Guarantees every woman the right to make choices about her own body, free from societal or religious restriction.

From international commitments like the UN SDGs to frontline monitoring by Civil Society Organizations like the Family Planning Organization of the Philippines (FPOP), we must continue to fight against budget cuts, supply chain gaps, and health misinformation.

Womenโ€™s health should never depend on status, location, or circumstance. Every woman deserves care, dignity, safety, and the chance to choose her own future.
Protect her health. Protect her future.

Letโ€™s tip the scales toward health equity. Protect her health, protect her future. โœŠโ™€๏ธ

Demonstrating its commitment to holistic employee well-being and inclusive development, the Regional Agricultural and Fishery Council - Cordillera Administrative Region (RAFC-CAR) hosted the weekly flag-raising ceremony today, May 25, 2026, at the Department of Agriculture-Regional Field Office CAR (DA-RFO CAR) grounds.

The event highlighted the council's strong collaborative partnerships with Easter College, Inc. - Department of Nursing and the Family Planning Organization of the Philippines (FPOP) Baguio-Benguet Chapter. Following the morning ceremony, nursing students from Easter College provided free blood pressure monitoring and health screenings, while FPOP Baguio-Benguet spearheaded family planning services, distributing vital commodities including oral contraceptive pills and condoms alongside providing reproductive health counseling. A total of more than 55 employees from DA-RFO CAR, the Bureau of Plant Industry (BPI), and the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) successfully availed themselves of these free medical and family planning services throughout the morning.

This healthcare initiative is part of the institutional commitment of RAFC-CAR to promote health equity, aligned with its advocacy for Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI) within the agricultural sector and partner government agencies. By integrating workplace wellness with professional advocacy, RAFC-CAR continues to champion a healthier, more inclusive environment for the workforce driving regional agricultural development.

As we remember the lives lost to AIDS, we also renew our commitment to ending HIV and AIDS stigma. This day is not only about remembranceโ€”it is about standing in solidarity with people living with HIV, honoring their strength, uplifting communities, and continuing the call for awareness, compassion, and action.

May we keep the legacy alive by choosing understanding over stigma and action over silence. โค๏ธ

In many Cordilleran communities, mothers practice ubba (also known as aba or afa): the traditional way of carrying a child on the back using a cloth sling. More than a cultural practice, ubba reflects the quiet strength of motherhood that is keeping a child close, warm, and secure while continuing the daily work of caring for the family and community.

This Motherโ€™s Day, FPOP honors all mothers and caregivers whose love carries generations forward.

Just like ubba, Sexual and Reproductive Health reminds us that maternal care should never be carried alone. Every mother deserves access to safe pregnancy care, reproductive health services, informed choices, support systems, and a community that uplift their wellbeing and dignity.

Because caring for mothers is also caring for families, communities, and future generations.
