A new chapter of leadership begins.

On September 12, 2026, the Baguio Filipino Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc. held its Leadership Turnover Ceremony at the Meritus Hall of Hotel Supreme Mall & Events Center.

Outgoing President Mr. Peter L. Ng formally turned over the organization’s leadership after eight years of dedicated service from 2018 to 2026 to incoming President Engr. Kane Chanbonpin, who will lead the Chamber for the 2026–2028 term.

We honor Mr. Ng for his invaluable leadership and warmly congratulate Engr. Chanbonpin as he carries the Chamber’s mission forward. Here’s to continued unity, service, and progress for the Filipino-Chinese community and the City of Baguio.

BAGUIO CITY, Philippines: The Baguio City Council has formally congratulated and commended business and community leader Peter L. Ng following his recognition at the 6th Association for Philippine-China Understanding (APCU) Awards for his contributions to Philippine-China friendship, cultural understanding, and community development.

The council adopted Resolution No. 505, Series of 2026, during its regular session on June 8, days after Ng received the recognition at the 6th APCU Awards held at The Manila Hotel in Manila on June 3.

The award was conferred by the Association for Philippine-China Understanding, in partnership with the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in the Philippines, recognizing individuals who have made significant contributions to strengthening friendship, cooperation, and mutual understanding between the Philippines and China.

In its resolution, the City Council cited Ng’s work as a business and community leader in Baguio City, as well as his involvement in organizations representing the city’s Filipino-Chinese community.

Ng currently serves as chairman of the Baguio Filipino Chinese Community Executive Committee, president of the Baguio Filipino-Cantonese Association, and president of the Baguio Filipino Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The council said Ng has “consistently demonstrated exemplary leadership and dedication to community service.”

It also described his recognition as a source of “pride and inspiration” for the people of Baguio City, saying that it exemplifies the values of leadership, service, and international friendship.

The resolution was introduced by Councilor Betty Lourdes F. Tabanda, together with Vice Mayor Faustino A. Olowan and members of the City Council.

“Resolved, as it is hereby resolved, to congratulate and commend Peter L. Ng for being honored at the 6th APCU Awards in recognition of his outstanding contributions to strengthening Philippine-China friendship, cultural understanding, and community development,” the resolution stated.
