Hygiene Heroes in Action!

Episode 8: Big Leap—The Journey to Cleaner Lands!

The heroes now take the last mile of their journey with excitement and hope; they have polished the path, bridging actions and solutions to problems. Advocates of Little Hands, Big Hygiene from 12 STEM I - St. Andrew have concluded their last community deployment at Camp 3 Elementary School in Tuba, Benguet, on April 02, 2025. Given another opportunity to fulfill the advocacy goals, advocates now seized this to leave an incredible legacy.

The arrival at the community, followed by an hour of lunch break and preparation, gave the advocates the energy and confidence to execute their activities. Continuing the partnership with Nam-ay Eskwela, the first activity aimed to restore the comfort and functionality of the campus restrooms, the advocates now cleaned and prepared them for fitting service. It now gave the learners the appropriate environment with respect for their hygiene and healthy habits. Additionally, to address the lack of resources for practicing proper hygiene, the advocates distributed hand soaps and cleaning materials to promote healthy habits at various handwashing stations, restrooms, and classrooms.

The advocates also prepared a program for the Grade 4 students, featuring a video presentation by Mrs. Mary Ann Bacullo; however, due to a power interruption in the area, the advocates now improvised the program's content. They held an interactive discussion and review of the previous workshop with the students, reiterating the importance of hygiene practices. Moreover, games and activities with the pupils' participation were made lively with the various rewards given. All these activities have secured a lasting impression and knowledge of the importance of personal hygiene practices and healthy habits.

Lastly, the day ended with the mural wall painting and the culminating program for all the advocacy groups. Through the mural, each group showcased and left their mark at Camp 3 Elementary School through creative artwork that delivered the messages of their advocacies. The culminating program featured the ribbon-cutting ceremony of the newly refurbished restrooms, in which Little Hands, Big Hygiene participated together with Nam-ay Eskwela and their partner, United Architect of the Philippines. Lastly, to wrap up all the activities, certificates and tokens were awarded to various partners and sponsors to show each advocacy group's appreciation.

The two-day community deployment featured projects that built relationships and answered real-world challenges. It is an unforgettable experience, showcasing active participation in the power of collaboration, learning, and service. Each advocate, partner, and community member has made this initiative tremendously successful. The community immersion is a milestone in continuing the service, advocacy, and transformation journey. As the advocacy wraps up, we carry forward not just results, but also the experiences that will shape future efforts.

Little Story—Our Recent Wrap-Up!

Episode 6: Taking the First Step into the Bigger World of Hygiene

Advocates of Little Hands, Big Hygiene from 12 STEM I - St. Andrew concluded their first community deployment at Camp 3 Elementary School in Tuba, Benguet, on March 18, 2025. The initial session, which aims to educate young learners about proper hygiene practices—involved instructing and demonstrating proper garbage segregation, hand washing techniques, and brushing habits. Throughout the class workshop, the Grade 4 pupils remained attentive and entertained by all the topics and various activities presented, marking the whole session as a success.

The advocates followed this remarkable accomplishment with the second session through passive campaigning for healthy habits, including disseminating posters and pub mats. Then, advocates performed an initial restroom cleaning in collaboration with Nam-Ay Eskwela to restore their comfort and functionality. This now closes out the second part of the deployment agenda and sets up the subsequent activities for the second deployment.

All the culminating efforts of the advocacy have reached a desirable conclusion, paving the way to the continuous exhaustion of efforts aligned with the expected second deployment on April 2, 2025, to fulfill the advocacy goals.

Hey Littles, meet your Ates and Kuyas!

Episode 5: Hygiene Heroes—Fighting for a Healthier Tomorrow

Our venture seeks to mold young children into Hygiene Heroes of their homes, schools, and communities by teaching them practices that will allow them to care for themselves properly. Along with it, we intend to promote the significance of cleanliness, such as oral hygiene, hand washing, and general tidiness, to sustain a healthy lifestyle, minimize the chances of sickness, and set good hygiene habits for even the youngest children. We are an educational initiative that aims to change the future of public health for the better, incorporating young children by teaching them that small hands can indeed make a big difference.

We do not wear capes nor wield superpowers, but we possess something powerful—clean hands and healthy habits. Hold the power to fight germs, prevent illness, and be empowered to create a healthier world. Heroes assemble!

Hi, Littles!

Episode 1: "Big World of Hygiene Starts Small with Healthy Habits"

Most of the time, hygiene can be forgotten and discarded by little kids, making it a habit until they become adults. These small practices can become permanent and make them unhygienic. With distance as a contributor, proper hygiene education cannot be dispersed, and inequality to this information is manifested.

Hence, as Louisians, we must be socially engaging and be a driving force to help reduce inequality in education by reaching out to further communities and giving quality information regarding practicing healthy habits.

Group 1 of Grade 12 STEM I - St. Andrew proudly presents Little Hands, Big Hygiene, a student advocacy group that aims to advocate good, healthy hygiene practices.

The advocacy aims to nurture good practices in children. It also promotes equality by helping them acquire proper hygiene education despite their background and location. Moreover, the advocacy will share knowledge to help children have a cleaner and healthier future.

Little Hands, Big Hygiene welcomes you to join our advocacy on reaching communities, educating children, and promoting healthy hygiene. Remember, "Big World of Hygiene Starts Small with Healthy Habits."
