OPEN LETTER TO THE PEOPLE OF BAGUIO
From Generation Uplift: A Youth-Driven Movement for Real Change
To our fellow citizens of Baguio,
We are Generation Uplift—a youth-driven initiative committed to empowering Baguio’s young visionaries to become catalysts for positive change. Our mission is grounded in leadership, community engagement, and personal growth. We believe that when young people are equipped with the right tools, guidance, and space to lead, they don’t just dream of a better future—they build it.
Today, we write this letter with both urgency and hope.
For too long, our city has been led by the same political figures—the same faces who cling to power, often prioritizing personal gain over public service. Many of them are what we know as “trapo”—traditional politicians—who’ve overstayed, overpromised, and underdelivered.
Meanwhile, young leaders—bold, innovative, and deeply committed to community uplift—are often overlooked. These are individuals who are not in office yet already making a real impact. They are organizing feeding drives, cleaning parks, leading climate initiatives, tutoring children, supporting mental health, and amplifying unheard voices. They are the now and the next—but they need your vote to make it into the room where change happens.
Generation Uplift stands with these changemakers. We create spaces for them to thrive, to grow, and to be seen—not just as future leaders, but as present-day forces for good. We’ve seen what they’re capable of, and we believe Baguio is ready to be led by individuals who serve not for fame, not for fortune—but for the people.
This coming May 12, we urge you to vote with courage, not comfort.
Vote with vision, not tradition.
Vote for those who uplift—not those who merely occupy.
Let’s break the cycle.
Let’s retire the old ways.
Let’s rise—with new voices, new energy, and new hope.
Out with the old. In with the new.
Choose leaders who reflect the future Baguio deserves.
With purpose and pride,
Generation Uplift
Empowering Youth. Igniting Change.
