A historic afternoon of tribute, passion, and exemplary service unfolded yesterday, July 14, 2026, as the SLU KASAMA/SSC gathered at the 𝗙𝗿. 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗲 𝗩𝗲𝗿𝗯𝗶𝘀𝘁, 𝗖𝗜𝗖𝗠 𝗛𝗮𝗹𝗹 for the prestigious 𝗚𝗮𝘄𝗮𝗱 𝗟𝘂𝘄𝗶𝘀𝘆𝗮𝗻𝗼 2026 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘆.

Organized by the SLU KASAMA/SSC through the Executive Committee and 26th Congress of Louisians, the ceremony served as the highest recognition program to honor student leaders, assemblies, committees, and offices who went above and beyond during Academic Year 2025-2026. These outstanding individuals and organizations successfully translated the Louisian Core Values into impactful, real-world service.

Pursuant to the provisions of the KASAMA/SSC Constitution of 2000, the 26𝘁𝗵 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗟𝗼𝘂𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗮𝗻𝘀 has formally approved amendments to the Gawad Luwisyano 2026 Guidelines following consultations with the various school assemblies and the Organizing Committee. The approved amendments seek to address recurring concerns and further strengthen the nomination and evaluation process.

Furthermore, the following amendments have been adopted:

⚜️ The submission of a recent 2×2 photograph has been removed as a required document;

⚜️ The Letter of Recommendation has been reclassified as an optional requirement; and

⚜️ The evaluation criteria have been revised to allocate 60% to the Summary of Accomplishments and 40%*to the Interview.

The Congress of Louisians remains committed to fostering a fair, transparent, and responsive recognition process that upholds the excellence, leadership, and service embodied by Gawad Luwisyano. ⚜️

Pursuant to the provisions of the KASAMA/SSC Constitution of 2000, the 26𝘁𝗵 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗟𝗼𝘂𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗮𝗻𝘀 has formally authorized the extension of term for eligible incumbent student leaders in a holdover capacity until the official turnover of newly elected officers following the October General Elections.

This measure seeks to ensure the continuity of student representation, preserve organizational stability, and prevent disruptions in the delivery of programs and services during the interim period. Eligible incumbent officers who satisfy the prescribed qualifications may continue serving until their duly elected successors officially assume office.

Pursuant to the provisions of the KASAMA/SSC Constitution of 2000, the 26𝘁𝗵 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗟𝗼𝘂𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗮𝗻𝘀 has formally authorized all members of the Congress to participate in the proceedings of the Committee on Budgets and Appropriations and the Committee on Appointments.

This measure ensures that both committees are able to effectively discharge their constitutional mandates despite existing vacancies, while promoting equitable representation, maintaining quorum, and ensuring the uninterrupted conduct of legislative and appointment proceedings.
