Facts about Atty Edison “NoSide” Bilog
Atty. Edison R. Bilog, ed and/or noside to some, is a lawyer and a politician. Known for his dedicated, industrious and God fearing service to the people. He was a former public attorney, city councilor and city vice mayor. Here are some key facts about him.
1. Early Life
Birth date: He was born on March 28, 1967 in Baguio City, Philippines. He is the eldest child of the late Councilor Edgardo Eugenio Bilog and Corazon Umali Ramos.
2. Humble beginnings
Although Edison’s parents could afford to provide him his law education, however, he chose to be a working student. During his College of Law days he is working as a utility worker ( janitor) at the City Market Office under the City Treasurer’s Office.
3. Carrer before being a politian
Ed started as a janitor in the market office, he then got promoted as Legislative Assistant in the Sangguniang panlungsod of Baguio City. After passing the bar, he became a private practitioner of law, and then got employed as Election Officer of Baguio City. He then became and resigned as the Assistant Regional Director pf the Public Attorney’s Office of Region 1.
4. As a politician
Noside run as a City Councilor in 2010 and won as No. 6 Councilor. He then placed No. 1 City Councilor when he run for re-election. In 2014, due to the death of the late Vice Mayor Daniel Farinas, he succeeded as the City’s Vice Mayor. He, then run for Vice Mayor and won by a landslide. Leading his closest pursuer by more than 18,000 votes.
5. Achievements
1. As a Public Attorney
a. During his time, he was the youngest appointed Assistant Regional Director of the Public Attorney’s Office (PAO)
b. He was cited by the judges of San Fernando City as the best Public Attorney in Region 1.
c. He was the only Public Attorney whose 13 criminal cases were promulgated in a single day
2. As a City Councilor
1. He was the only elected city councilor who in his first term (2010-2013) he was already nominated and cited as one of the most outstanding councilor in the Philippines ( the nomnation was granted by the sunflower jaycees of Baguio City
3. As a Vice Mayor
1. He carried the city council to its first and best finished in the Search for Most outstanding City Council in the entire Philippines. The Baguio City Council placed 2nd in the prestigous search.
4. as a City councilor and Vice Mayor
1. He is the only elected public servant who, in 2 consecutive terms, 2010-2016, has a 100 % perfect attendace. He has no absence during those years.
