The Prophet ﷺ said:

“No day is better to Allah than the day of ‘Arafah.” (Sahih Ibn Hibbaan 3853)

It’s the day Allah descends to the lowest heaven and saves more people from Hellfire than any other time of the year.

Right now, millions of pilgrims are standing on the plain of ‘Arafah, hands raised, weeping, calling on Allah in the greatest act of collective worship on earth.

And you, wherever you are, can join them in spirit.

No matter how busy we are, there are two simple things all of us can do on this special day—and they carry great reward:
Make abundant Du’a today for this is the best day for supplication.
Recite the best Dhikr for this day which is:
لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ وَهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْء قدير

“There is no god but God alone who has no partner; to Him belongs the dominion, to Him praise is due, and He is omnipotent.” (Mishkat al-Masabih 2598, 2599)

Make your Du'as today, for yourself, your family, your parents, and for the Ummah. Ask for what you need. Ask for forgiveness. Ask for guidance and steadfastness.

A special door of mercy and blessings is open today.

Don't let it close without benefitting from it.

May Allah accept from every one of us on this blessed day. Ameen.

Right now, on the plains of ‘Arafah, millions of people are standing before Allah.

The greatest event of mass forgiveness in the entire year is happening today.

And Allah — the Most Merciful, the Most Generous — descends to the lowest heaven on the Day of ‘Arafah and says to His angels: "Look at My servants, appearing disheveled and dusty! They came from every mountain pass hoping for My mercy. They do not see My punishment, yet they do not see that on no day are more saved from Hellfire than the day of ‘Arafah." (Ṣaḥīḥ Ibn Ḥibbān 3853)

The Day of ‘Arafah is not just the peak of Hajj. It is the day Allah is most generous. The day Du'as are most readily answered. The day the gates of His mercy are opened wider than on any other day of the year.

Charity given on this day would also be more beloved to our Creator and hence rewarded more than on any ordinary day.

The Prophet ﷺ said: "Charity extinguishes sin as water extinguishes fire." (Jami at-Tirmidhi 2616)

Now place that on the Day of ‘Arafah. The day when Allah is already forgiving. The day when every good deed is most beloved.

The pilgrims on ‘Arafah gave everything to be there — their money, their time, their comfort. They sacrificed to stand in that place on this day.

You are here. And you can sacrifice something too.
Give today — whatever Allah puts in your heart. Give it on the day Allah is most generous in bestowing His mercy and reward.

The Day of Arafah will not come again for another year.

And neither of us knows if we will be here to see it.

Anyone can give once. But those who give regularly build legacies — supporting Da'wah, educating generations, and leaving behind ongoing reward long after they are gone.

Set up monthly giving and let your Sadaqah Jaariyah live on, In Sha Allah, even after you return to Allah.

Today is the eighth of Dhul Hijjah — a day known as Yawm at-Tarwiyah.

If you were in Makkah right now, you would be making your way to Mina. The pilgrims are leaving the city today, moving toward the plains where one of the greatest gatherings in human history will take place tomorrow.

They are preparing their hearts for 'Arafah.

You are not in Mina today. But you can do something the scholars recommend for those not on Hajj.

Use today as your own day of preparation — not for Hajj, but for the Day of 'Arafah tomorrow. The greatest day of the year. The day when fasting wipes away two years of sins.

⏰ Set up a reminder to start reciting the Takbeerat after every obligatory Salah, from the Fajr of 9th Dhul Hijjah to the 'Asr of the 13th.

Don't arrive at 'Arafah's fast unprepared. Spend today in extra Dhikr. Make your intentions. Identify what you want to ask Allah for tomorrow — the needs you've been carrying, the sins you want erased, the Du'as you've been delaying.

Prepare your heart today so you can maximize your spirituality tomorrow, In Sha Allah.

May Allah grant the pilgrims an accepted Hajj and grant us the full reward of these blessed days. Ameen.

Ibrahim (عليه السلام) had waited his entire life for a son.

Decades of Du'a. Decades of hope. And then, when Ismail (عليه السلام) finally came — this child he had longed for — Allah sent him a dream signalling him to sacrifice his son.

The Quran describes what happened next with a simplicity that is almost devastating in its beauty. Ibrahim (عليه السلام) didn't hide it from Ismail (عليه السلام). He told him. And Ismail (عليه السلام) — a young boy at the time — replied: "O my dear father! Do as you are commanded. Allah willing, you will find me steadfast." (Quran 37:102)

This is a heartfelt example of a father and son truly devoted to Allah, prioritizing His command above all else.

And just when Ibrahim (عليه السلام) was about to make the ultimate sacrifice, Allah's command came: "O Ibrahim! You have already fulfilled the vision." (Quran 37:104-105) A ram was sent in Ismail's place. The sacrifice had already been made… in the heart, in the intention, in the willingness to give up what was most beloved.

This is the spirit that Dhul Hijjah is built on.

Not just the ritual of Udhiyah. But the deeper question it asks every one of us: what are we holding onto that we haven't yet placed before Allah? What have we been unwilling to give — our time, our habits, our wealth, our plans — out of love for the Dunya?

Ibrahim (عليه السلام) was asked to give his son. Most of us are being asked for far less.

The lesson of his story is not just about sacrificing our wealth to perform the ritual of sacrifice on Eid. It's about nurturing a heart that loves Allah more than
anything else.

May Allah make us of those who give for His sake freely and with Tawakkul. Ameen.
