Empowered women in action! 💛

The Women for Development (WORD) of Barangay Salud Mitra successfully held their 4th Women Officer for a Day (WOFAD), where strong and dedicated women stepped into leadership roles to voice out real community issues and work together toward meaningful solutions, truly leading with the wisdom and strength of modern-day babaylans.

With the inspiring presence of Councilor Edison R. Bilog as the guest speaker and administering officer for the oath-taking, the day was filled with purpose, leadership, and empowerment.

During their afternoon duty, the participants didn’t just talk about change, they made it happen by resolving an actual concern in the community. The program concluded with heartfelt impressions from the participants, reflecting their experiences, insights, and renewed commitment to serve.

Indeed, when women lead like the babaylans of old, communities grow stronger.

Barangay Salud Mitra proudly held its first-ever Kiddie Officer for a Day (KIDOFAD) 2025—a historic moment for our barangay and the first KIDOFAD in the entire City of Baguio because we believe that children’s involvement is essential in shaping our future, we continue to strengthen programs like SCOFAD and WOFAD. With this belief, we created a project that truly empowers children by involving them in meaningful decision-making processes within our community.

We were honored to welcome Councilor Betty Lourdes F. Tabanda as our Guest Speaker. She also administered the Oath of Office, officially empowering our young officers for the day. She highlighted how meaningful this program is and proudly shared that this is the very first KIDOFAD in Baguio City.

After the turnover, oath-taking, and committee briefing, the children held their official barangay discussion and meeting, where they confidently identified problems they noticed in the community, brainstormed practical solutions, and even crafted a Barangay Resolution to be submitted to Councilor Tabanda. Truly future leaders in action!

In the afternoon, the Kiddie Officers performed their duties—assisting in the office, helping manage traffic, and joining the barangay tanods in roaming the community to observe and check surroundings.

To celebrate their efforts, Councilor Tabanda surprised the kids with superhero capes and butterfly wings, adding joy and color to the event as they posed proudly as our little leaders and heroes.

A day filled with learning, leadership, and fun—KIDOFAD 2025 is a milestone we will always celebrate.
