How long will this hardship end?
Will it be like this forever?
—
When I had lost all hope, I turned my thoughts once more to the Lord (Jonah 2:7).
I would have lost heart, unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living (Psalm 27:13).
You may be feeling hopeless because of your present situation. Tired and already on the verge of giving up because maybe your situation has not changed, yet.
My prayer for today is that despite what we see in the now-trials and sorrows that seem unending, may we be reminded to take heart- be courageous and confident, undaunted and filled with joy, because He has overcome the world (John 16:33).
This world is not our permanent home; and as His sons and daughters, we can look forward to a home yet to come (Hebrews 13:14), where He will wipe every tear from our eyes, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever (Revelation 21:4).
Our God is a good God, and what He does is good (Psalm 119:68). And we know that He is working all things together for the good of those who love Him (Romans 8:28). Let us give Him thanks, for He is good; His steadfast love endures forever (1 Chronicles 16:34). Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise-the fruit of lips that openly profess His name (Hebrews 13:15).
Be assured of this-
No matter what it is in the now,
In Christ,
it will all end in praise.
Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the man who trusts in Him (Psalm 34:8).
