We are sharing this lookback on the first day of preparations for the 30th Hooked on Books Library and Reading Program at Graciano Lopez Jaena Elementary School.

It was a meaningful start marked by engaging activities with students and the dedicated support of volunteers, alongside valued partners who helped make the kick-off possible.

We extend our appreciation to San Marino Consulate, Cebuana Lhuillier together with Boysen Paints Philippines Tosot Philippines, Primex Printers Inc., and Grounded by UP GEOP for their continued commitment to building spaces that support reading and learning for children.

We share this moment in recognition of collective efforts that continue to strengthen reading communities.

Every HOB Library is built not only through big acts of generosity, but also through the many people and organizations who quietly choose to help in their own meaningful ways. πŸ’™πŸ“š

To our partners, donors, and supporters who contributed materials, books, furnishings, logistics, creativity, and time for the 30th HOB Library at Graciano Lopez Jaena Elementary School, thank you for becoming part of this shared mission for Filipino children, including those who chose to support quietly and did not wish to be publicly mentioned.

Your support helped transform an ordinary space into a welcoming environment for reading, imagination, and learning. No contribution is ever too small when it helps open new worlds for a child. ✨

Last Monday, we proudly launched the 30th HOB Library at Graciano Lopez Jaena Elementary School in Sampaloc, Manila, our 4th HOB Library site in the Metro. πŸ“šβœ¨

Months after opening a library at the foot of the Sierra Madre in Cagayan, we found ourselves in the middle of Manila where crowded streets, busy classrooms, and the fast pace of urban life shape a completely different childhood experience. Yet despite the contrast between rural and urban communities, one thing remains the same: every child deserves access to stories, learning, and spaces where they are encouraged to dream beyond their circumstances.

This library came to life through the kindness of people from near and far. From the Philippines to San Marino, Italy, the United States, Scotland, and China, individuals, organizations, and partners came together with one shared purpose: supporting Filipino children through literacy.

Within this growing space for reading and creativity, every shelf, mural, and book carries the generosity of a community that chose to believe in the potential of young learners they may never even meet.

Here’s to building bridges across cities, countries, and communities through the power of books. πŸ’™πŸ“–

Our hearts are overflowing with gratitude today! On the morning of May 22, our incredible volunteers had the absolute privilege of a courtesy visit to the iconic Museo Pambata. πŸŽ’πŸ“š

We would like to extend our deepest, most heartfelt thank you to Museo Pambata, especially to Executive Director Randel C. Urbano, for their immense generosity, warm hospitality, and for opening their doors to our team.

One of our key objectives for this visit was to draw inspiration from the museum’s brilliant interactive, child-centered design. As we continue to build and improve our Hooked on Books (HOB) Libraries across various public schools, we are constantly seeking fresh, innovative ideas on how to make our spaces more engaging, imaginative, and responsive to children’s learning needs. 🎨🌟

Seeing how Museo Pambata sparks curiosity and joy in every corner has given our team a wave of fresh inspiration. We cannot wait to bring these ideas to life and weave this magic into our upcoming school libraries!

Thank you, Museo Pambata, for being a beacon of child-centered learning and for supporting our shared vision of nurturing a generation of readers and dreamers. πŸ‡΅πŸ‡β€οΈ

There is something deeply moving about witnessing bayanihan in its purest form. 🀍

This short documentary, lovingly crafted by our LINKS volunteers, captures the heart of what keeps us going. While our ultimate goal is always to build a brighter future for the children, we find ourselves equally inspired by the journey itselfβ€”the sight of a community coming together, lifting each other up, and proving that no burden is too heavy when shared.

It makes us think: What if this spark caught fire everywhere? If every community across the nation felt as empowered as the ones we are privileged to work with, the scale of change we could create would be limitless.

Looking back, we are filled with gratitude for the moments that accelerated this mission. This HOB opened doors we never expected. Through our partnership with the Philippine Center for Print Excellence Foundation, our world grew bigger, aligning us with people who share our core belief that protecting and nurturing children is the most important work on earth.

Take a few minutes to watch. Let it remind you of the power we hold when we choose to move forward together. πŸ‡΅πŸ‡βœ¨
