In every draw and release of her bow, Michiko Gonzales learned that strength isnβt just in the armβitβs in the heart that never gives up.
For 17-year-old Michiko, every arrow she releases carries not just precision but also passion, sacrifice, and the weight of representing the Summer Capital with pride.
For her, winning five medals (four gold, one silver, and one bronze) in Batang Pinoy 2024 was more than a triumph but a result of countless hours of training, pain and perseverance.
Michiko grew up watching her sisters train in archery as her journey began at home. βAt first it was funny because I was kind of forced into it, but it led me to learn so many things and travel to many places,β she said.
Her road to Batang Pinoy 2024 wasnβt smooth because at that time, she was recovering from dislocated shoulders and undergoing physical therapy, but she pushed through with unwavering determination.
For Michiko, that was a significant part of her journey, itβs a reminder of how much she can do when she refuses to give up.
When she finally secured her victory at Batang Pinoy 2024, she knew it was more than a win and the beginning of a new chapter.
Now part of the national team, Michiko continues to aim higher by proving that every dream, with enough courage and faith, is within reach.
From being a little girl watching her sisters train to becoming one of Baguioβs finest archers, Michiko Gonzalesβ journey is one drawn with patience, perseverance, and purpose.
