𝗛𝗔𝗣𝗣𝗬 𝗙𝗜𝗘𝗦𝗧𝗔 𝗖𝗜𝗖𝗠-𝗖𝗠𝗩!🎉

The Feast of San Lorenzo Ruiz was celebrated with faith and joy as the CICM-CMV gathered together for a meaningful day of prayer and fellowship.

The celebration began with the Holy Mass presided over by Rev. Fr. Adrian Louie Z. Atonducan, CICM, where they gathered in prayer and thanksgiving, asking for the intercession of San Lorenzo Ruiz. 🙏

After the Mass, the celebration continued with a joyful Karakol, led by the CAPA Ministry, with the youth joining in the dance around the Parish. 💃 A beautiful expression of faith, devotion, and thanksgiving!

They then gathered for a simple Salo-Salo, sharing food, laughter, stories, and fellowship as one CCMV community. 🍽️💜

𝗔 𝗗𝗔𝗡𝗖𝗘 𝗢𝗙 𝗙𝗔𝗜𝗧𝗛 𝗔𝗡𝗗 𝗗𝗘𝗩𝗢𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡

In celebration of the Feast of San Lorenzo Ruiz, the CAPA Ministry led our joyful Karakol, as CCMV members joined in the dance around the Parish. 🙏💜

With every step, beat, and movement, we celebrated not only with joy but also with faith, devotion, and thanksgiving. It was a beautiful sight to see the youth come together as one community, carrying the spirit of San Lorenzo Ruiz through joyful fellowship.

May the prayers and intentions carried in every step reach the Lord through the intercession of our patron, San Lorenzo Ruiz.

𝗞𝗡𝗢𝗪 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗠𝗜𝗦𝗦𝗜𝗢𝗡, 𝗟𝗜𝗩𝗘 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗠𝗜𝗦𝗦𝗜𝗢𝗡 | 𝗖𝗖𝗠𝗩 𝗚𝗘𝗡𝗘𝗥𝗔𝗟 𝗔𝗦𝗦𝗘𝗠𝗕𝗟𝗬 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 💜

The CICM-Campus Mission Volunteers gathered for our General Assembly and Orientation, welcoming our members into a day of learning, fellowship, prayer, and community. 🙏✨

The day began with an Opening Prayer led by the CCMV Merge Choir, followed by the Opening Remarks of Dr. Jeramie N. Molina.

To get everyone energized, the Chiro Youth Movement – SLU led an exciting ice breaker that brought smiles, laughter, and new connections among our members. 🫶

The program then continued with CCMV 101, led by our Chairperson, Seanne Lander P. Racadio, where members learned about the history of the Saint Aloysius Gonzaga Parish, how the name CICM-Campus Mission Volunteers came to be, and the people and communities they will be working with in the parish. This included our priests, parish staff, the Center for Campus Ministry, Parish Youth Organizations, and their respective advisers.

After the orientation, everyone proceeded to Giant Steps for a fellowship activity led by the Chiro Youth Movement – SLU, giving our members an opportunity to bond, laugh, and simply enjoy each other’s company. 💜

The day continued with the 4:00 PM Holy Mass at the Parish presided by Rev. Fr. Frans Fandy Palinoan, followed by the 9th and final day of the Novena to San Lorenzo Ruiz. The day ended with simple snacks and fellowship before everyone headed home.

It was truly heartwarming to see the members happy, engaged, and enjoying each other’s company throughout the day. More than just an orientation, this gathering became a reminder that CCMV is a community where young people can learn, serve, pray, and grow together.

Seeing the spirit of the youth very much alive in every smile, laugh, prayer, and act of service is something I will always be grateful for. May this be only the beginning of a meaningful journey for every new and returning member of CCMV.

𝗦𝘁. 𝗟𝗼𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘇𝗼 𝗥𝘂𝗶𝘇: 𝗔 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗳𝗮𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗺𝗮𝗿𝘆𝘁𝗿𝗱𝗼𝗺

We celebrate to day the feast of St. Lorenzo Ruiz de Manila, protomartyr of the Philippines. Born in Binondo, Manila, Lorenzo lived as a layman, husband, and father before joining the Dominican missionaries in Japan in the 17th century. Amid the persecution of Christians, he was arrested, tortured, and eventually martyred after refusing to renounce his faith.

Lorenzo's story remains an integral part of history of Christianity in the Philippines. He was canonized on October 18, 1987, making him the first Filipino saint.

As we continue our novena, we are reminded of the different ways we are called to live out our faith:

May we, like St. Lorenzo, turn to Christ in moments of fear and uncertainty, trusting in His presence and guidance.

𝘋𝘈𝘠 7 | 𝘊𝘰𝘯𝘧𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘊𝘩𝘳𝘪𝘴𝘵
May we boldly profess our faith in Christ and, like St. Lorenzo, remain faithful even when it demands courage and sacrifice.

𝗔𝗡 𝗨𝗡𝗘𝗫𝗣𝗘𝗖𝗧𝗘𝗗 𝗡𝗜𝗚𝗛𝗧 𝗢𝗙 𝗙𝗘𝗟𝗟𝗢𝗪𝗦𝗛𝗜𝗣 ✨

After the 5th Day of the Novena to St. Lorenzo Ruiz, the CICM-Campus Mission Volunteers gathered at the office for a simple evening of fun, fellowship, and friendship.

With different tabletop games, stories, laughter, and shared moments of joy, the youth found a much needed leeway from the stress of exam week. Despite the late-night reviews, exhausting examinations, and academic pressures, this simple gathering reminded us that there is always room to pause, breathe, and enjoy the company of one another.

In moments like these, we can truly see that the spirit of the youth is very much alive.💜 The laughter and energy shared that evening became a reminder that our journey as students and volunteers is not meant to be carried alone.

Later that evening, Fr. Adrian returned to the office with burgers for everyone! 🍔❤️ More than just food, his gesture became a simple way of encouraging the student volunteers to nourish themselves, regain their strength, and keep moving forward as they face the rest of the exam week.

And as we continue through this demanding season, we are also reminded that we do not walk through it alone. Every Mass this weekday, Fr. Adrian will be blessing students who wish to receive a special blessing after the prayers following Holy Communion. 🙏

We are reminded of the importance of nourishing not only our bodies and minds, but also our spirits. With this, we invite our fellow Lousian students to join us in the remaining days of the Novena to St. Lorenzo Ruiz every 6 PM at the SLU Parish until September 27.

Study hard, rest when you can, pray always, and remember that you are never alone.💜🙏
