We invite INCOMING SECOND YEAR medical students to join CMME 4 - Clinical Kickstart: Road to MD-II, a two-day lecture and workshop series designed to introduce you to the fundamentals of clinical medicine and hopefully equip you with some of the essential knowledge and practical skills needed as you begin MD-II. Through interactive lectures, hands-on workshops, and case-based learning, you will be introduced to the basics of history taking, physical examination, phlebotomy, and CPC making.

On July 3, 2026, members of SLU-MOMFI, in partnership with the Baguio-Benguet Medical Society (BBMS), participated in a tree planting activity at Camp John Hay, Baguio City. United by a shared commitment to environmental stewardship and community service, the initiative highlighted the importance of preserving nature as an essential component of promoting public health and sustainable development.

The activity brought together healthcare professionals, medical students, and volunteers in a collective effort to contribute to a greener and healthier environment. By planting trees, participants supported ongoing reforestation efforts while fostering environmental awareness, teamwork, and a deeper appreciation for the role of every individual in protecting the planet for future generations.

More than an environmental initiative, the tree planting activity reflected the shared vision of SLU-MOMFI and the Baguio-Benguet Medical Society of serving communities beyond the clinical setting. Every tree planted symbolizes hope, resilience, and a lasting investment in a healthier and more sustainable future.

Last July 3, 2026, the 𝙈𝙚𝙙𝙞𝙘𝙖𝙡 𝙊𝙪𝙩𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙘𝙝 𝙈𝙞𝙨𝙨𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙨 𝙁𝙚𝙡𝙡𝙤𝙬𝙨𝙝𝙞𝙥 𝙄𝙣𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙫𝙚 (𝙈𝙊𝙈𝙁𝙄), in partnership with the 𝙐𝙣𝙞𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙨𝙞𝙩𝙮 𝙤𝙛 𝘾𝙤𝙧𝙙𝙞𝙡𝙡𝙚𝙧𝙖𝙨 - 𝘾𝙤𝙡𝙡𝙚𝙜𝙚 𝙤𝙛 𝘼𝙧𝙩𝙨 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙎𝙘𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚𝙨 𝙊𝙧𝙜𝙖𝙣𝙞𝙯𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 and its partner institutions, successfully conducted a medical mission.

Through the collective efforts of the volunteers, the outreach was able to accommodate a total of 204 𝙥𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙨, 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 193 𝙗𝙚𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙥𝙚𝙙𝙞𝙖𝙩𝙧𝙞𝙘 𝙥𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙨 𝙖𝙣𝙙 11 𝙗𝙚𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙖𝙙𝙪𝙡𝙩 𝙥𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙨. The services provided include 𝙛𝙧𝙚𝙚 𝙘𝙤𝙣𝙨𝙪𝙡𝙩𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙨, 𝙝𝙚𝙖𝙡𝙩𝙝 𝙖𝙨𝙨𝙚𝙨𝙨𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙨, 𝙀𝙉𝙏 𝙨𝙚𝙧𝙫𝙞𝙘𝙚𝙨, 𝙬𝙤𝙢𝙚𝙣’𝙨 𝙝𝙚𝙖𝙡𝙩𝙝 𝙨𝙚𝙧𝙫𝙞𝙘𝙚𝙨, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙚𝙨𝙨𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙞𝙖𝙡 𝙢𝙚𝙙𝙞𝙘𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙨.

Beyond the services provided, this mission promoted 𝙥𝙧𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝙝𝙚𝙖𝙡𝙩𝙝𝙘𝙖𝙧𝙚, 𝙝𝙚𝙖𝙡𝙩𝙝 𝙚𝙙𝙪𝙘𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙡𝙮 𝙙𝙞𝙨𝙚𝙖𝙨𝙚 𝙙𝙚𝙩𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣. Also, this mission was able to show the impact of 𝙘𝙤𝙡𝙡𝙖𝙗𝙤𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝙬𝙤𝙧𝙠 𝙞𝙣 𝙢𝙖𝙠𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙦𝙪𝙖𝙡𝙞𝙩𝙮 𝙝𝙚𝙖𝙡𝙩𝙝𝙘𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙢𝙤𝙧𝙚 𝙖𝙘𝙘𝙚𝙨𝙨𝙞𝙗𝙡𝙚 𝙩𝙤 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙪𝙣𝙙𝙚𝙧𝙨𝙚𝙧𝙫𝙚𝙙 𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙢𝙪𝙣𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙚𝙨.

Medicine extends far beyond hospitals and clinics—it reaches every community where compassion is needed.

On June 10, 2026, SLU-MOMFI composed of junior interns, medical students, Belgian volunteer physicians, and psychometricians conducted a medical mission at the Baguio City Bureau of Jail Management and Penology, providing holistic healthcare services to 60 patients, including persons deprived of liberty (PDLs), police officers, and interns.

Through medical consultations, EENT services, pharmacy assistance, and psychological support, they witnessed firsthand that healthcare is not only about treating illnesses but also about recognizing the dignity, humanity, and emotional well-being of every individual. The experience is a reminder that everyone deserves accessible, compassionate, and respectful care—regardless of their circumstances.

This mission served as a powerful reminder that the true essence of medicine lies not only in healing diseases, but also in restoring hope, preserving dignity, and serving with compassion wherever we are called.

On this day, the Medical Outreach was held at Pinukpuk Junction Rural Health Unit, which successfully served 158 beneficiaries, providing accessible and comprehensive healthcare services to individuals of all ages. The outreach included medical consultations, laboratory examinations, pharmacy services, minor surgical procedures, and circumcision, ensuring that patients received quality care tailored to their health needs.

A total of 123 pediatric patients benefited from circumcision services, while 34 adult patients received consultations for various medical conditions, including hypertension, hyperuricemia, osteoarthritis, respiratory illnesses, allergies, anemia, thyroid disorders, and other common health concerns. Diagnostic services such as urinalysis, uric acid testing, and random blood sugar screening further supported accurate assessment and appropriate treatment.

Beyond delivering healthcare services, the outreach fostered meaningful patient interactions, strengthened teamwork among healthcare professionals, medical students, RHU staff, and volunteers, and reinforced the importance of compassionate, community-centered care. Every consultation, every prescription dispensed, and every procedure performed reflected our shared commitment to improving health outcomes and promoting preventive healthcare.

On May 29, 2026, MOMFI, together with the 𝑷𝒊𝒏𝒖𝒌𝒑𝒖𝒌 𝑹𝒖𝒓𝒂𝒍 𝑯𝒆𝒂𝒍𝒕𝒉 𝑼𝒏𝒊𝒕 (𝑹𝑯𝑼) 🏥 and dedicated 𝑩𝒂𝒓𝒂𝒏𝒈𝒂𝒚 𝑯𝒆𝒂𝒍𝒕𝒉 𝑾𝒐𝒓𝒌𝒆𝒓𝒔 (𝑩𝑯𝑾𝒔) 🤝, brought essential healthcare services to the communities of Bayao, Dugpa, and Pakawit.

🩺 Through the collective efforts of physicians, volunteers, RHU personnel, and local BHWs, patients received 𝑴𝒆𝒅𝒊𝒄𝒂𝒍 𝑪𝒐𝒏𝒔𝒖𝒍𝒕𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒔, 𝑬𝑵𝑻 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑶𝑩 𝑺𝒆𝒓𝒗𝒊𝒄𝒆𝒔, 𝑴𝒊𝒏𝒐𝒓 𝑺𝒖𝒓𝒈𝒊𝒄𝒂𝒍 𝑷𝒓𝒐𝒄𝒆𝒅𝒖𝒓𝒆𝒔, and access to prescribed medications. 💊 Beyond the services provided, the mission became an opportunity to listen to stories, address health concerns, and empower individuals through health education.

📍 Last May 28, 2026, a mass circumcision and medical outreach was conducted by the 𝙈𝙚𝙙𝙞𝙘𝙖𝙡 𝙊𝙪𝙩𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙘𝙝 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙈𝙞𝙨𝙨𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙨 𝙁𝙚𝙡𝙡𝙤𝙬𝙨𝙝𝙞𝙥 𝙄𝙣𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙫𝙚 (𝙈𝙊𝙈𝙁𝙄) at 𝙋𝙞𝙣𝙪𝙠𝙥𝙪𝙠 𝙏𝙤𝙬𝙣 𝙃𝙖𝙡𝙡, serving the 𝙖𝙙𝙪𝙡𝙩 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙥𝙚𝙙𝙞𝙖𝙩𝙧𝙞𝙘 𝙞𝙣𝙙𝙞𝙫𝙞𝙙𝙪𝙖𝙡𝙨 in the community. Along with 𝘿𝙧. 𝙍𝙞𝙯𝙖𝙡 𝘾𝙖𝙡𝙖, 𝘿𝙧. 𝘽𝙚𝙧𝙣𝙖𝙧𝙙 𝙒𝙖𝙣𝙙𝙖𝙜𝙖, 𝘿𝙧. 𝘾𝙧𝙞𝙨𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙖 𝙏𝙤𝙣𝙜𝙙𝙤, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙋𝙞𝙣𝙪𝙠𝙥𝙪𝙠 𝙍𝙪𝙧𝙖𝙡 𝙃𝙚𝙖𝙡𝙩𝙝 𝙐𝙣𝙞𝙩 (𝙍𝙃𝙐) 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝘽𝙖𝙧𝙖𝙣𝙜𝙖𝙮 𝙃𝙚𝙖𝙡𝙩𝙝 𝙒𝙤𝙧𝙠𝙚𝙧𝙨 (𝘽𝙃𝙒), the mission was made successful.

The goal of the mission was to provide 𝙖𝙘𝙘𝙚𝙨𝙨𝙞𝙗𝙡𝙚 𝙝𝙚𝙖𝙡𝙩𝙝𝙘𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙨𝙚𝙧𝙫𝙞𝙘𝙚𝙨 to community members through routine 𝙢𝙚𝙙𝙞𝙘𝙖𝙡 𝙘𝙤𝙣𝙨𝙪𝙡𝙩𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙨, 𝙡𝙖𝙗𝙤𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙤𝙧𝙮 𝙚𝙭𝙖𝙢𝙞𝙣𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙨, 𝙥𝙝𝙖𝙧𝙢𝙖𝙘𝙮 𝙨𝙚𝙧𝙫𝙞𝙘𝙚𝙨, 𝙢𝙞𝙣𝙤𝙧 𝙨𝙪𝙧𝙜𝙞𝙘𝙖𝙡 𝙥𝙧𝙤𝙘𝙚𝙙𝙪𝙧𝙚𝙨, 𝙘𝙞𝙧𝙘𝙪𝙢𝙘𝙞𝙨𝙞𝙤𝙣, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙛𝙤𝙡𝙡𝙤𝙬-𝙪𝙥 𝙖𝙨𝙨𝙚𝙨𝙨𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙨 to ensure comprehensive patient care. A total of 164 𝙞𝙣𝙙𝙞𝙫𝙞𝙙𝙪𝙖𝙡𝙨 were catered, with 134 𝙗𝙚𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙥𝙚𝙙𝙞𝙖𝙩𝙧𝙞𝙘 patients, 27 𝙗𝙚𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙖𝙙𝙪𝙡𝙩 patients, and 3 𝙗𝙚𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙨𝙪𝙧𝙜𝙞𝙘𝙖𝙡 patients. A significant portion of 118 𝙥𝙚𝙙𝙞𝙖𝙩𝙧𝙞𝙘 𝙥𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙨 𝙛𝙤𝙘𝙪𝙨𝙚𝙙 𝙤𝙣 𝙘𝙞𝙧𝙘𝙪𝙢𝙘𝙞𝙨𝙞𝙤𝙣 services.

The mission provided opportunities for 𝙢𝙚𝙙𝙞𝙘𝙖𝙡 𝙨𝙩𝙪𝙙𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙨 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙝𝙚𝙖𝙡𝙩𝙝𝙘𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙩𝙧𝙖𝙞𝙣𝙚𝙚𝙨 to interact directly with the patients and be their consultants, enhancing their 𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙢𝙪𝙣𝙞𝙘𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙨𝙠𝙞𝙡𝙡𝙨 and receiving 𝙫𝙖𝙡𝙪𝙖𝙗𝙡𝙚 𝙞𝙣𝙨𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩𝙨 into the health-related concerns, experiences, and realities faced by the local community members. Other than the services provided, it served as an opportunity to 𝙡𝙞𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙣 𝙩𝙤 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙥𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙨’ 𝙨𝙩𝙤𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙨, helping them in providing 𝙖𝙘𝙘𝙪𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙚 𝙘𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙝𝙚𝙖𝙡𝙩𝙝 𝙚𝙙𝙪𝙘𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣.
