On a meaningful Saturday, the graduating class of 2026 gathered for a culmination event that honored their internship journeys — and reminded them of the deeper calling behind their degree.

What started as an ordinary Saturday became an extraordinary send-off. The Department of Psychology marked the culmination of Batch Kasiyana's college journey through a celebration that was as heartfelt as it was significant — gathering students, faculty, and supervisors under one roof to reflect on the road traveled.

The event welcomed Host Training Establishment (HTE) supervisors from across the three internship settings — educational, clinical, and industrial/organizational — each arriving with words of wisdom crafted from years of professional experience. Their presence served as both affirmation and challenge: a reminder that the skills forged in internship are only the beginning.

Among the highlights of the afternoon were personal testimonials from 4th-year students themselves, who took the stage to share firsthand accounts of their internship experiences across the three settings. These stories — honest, vulnerable, and full of growth — painted a picture of a batch that did not simply complete requirements, but showed up fully for the work of becoming mental health advocates.

"𝙈𝙖𝙩𝙖𝙩𝙖𝙜, 𝙥𝙖𝙡𝙖𝙗𝙖𝙣, 𝙖𝙩 𝙣𝙖𝙣𝙜𝙪𝙣𝙜𝙪𝙣𝙖!"

The celebration was not merely a looking back, but a looking forward — into a profession that demands courage, discernment, and an unwavering commitment to human dignity. This charge was perhaps most powerfully voiced by the department head, whose words resonated long after the event drew to a close.

Batch Kasiyana will graduate not just with a diploma, but with a mandate. The event made clear that psychology, at its truest, is not a passive science — it is a practice rooted in justice, truth, and the courage to stand for those who cannot stand alone.

𝗙𝗘𝗔𝗧𝗨𝗥𝗘𝗗 | 𝗟𝗲𝘁'𝘀 𝗕𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗱! 𝗕𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗧𝗮𝗹𝗴𝗲𝗱 𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿, 𝗦𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗲𝘁𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗠𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗟𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗦𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝘀𝘁𝘀, & 𝗣𝘀𝘆𝗰𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗲𝘁𝘆

On April 30, 2026, SLU Talged Center in collaboration with Psyche Society and Society of Medical Laboratory Scientists, commenced "Stringing Sessions: Episode 1", an event focused on understanding two unique programs: Psychology and Medical Laboratory Science— connecting hope and resiliency.

The main event started with a "Braiding Ritual" between the representatives from Talged Center, Psyche Society and Society of Medical Laboratory Scientists by binding three knots to each other, representing the newly established connection between the organizations, mediated by Talged Center.

As the event continued, to strengthen the bond, binding questions were asked— unique questions, centering on the particularities of the programs each of the organization represents with each group taking turn to answer. The questions gave avenue to explore misconceptions, knowledge, struggles of being a student from Medical Laboratory and Psychology, and of course, how each respective programs help with the representatives’ perspective from their professional to daily lives.

As the bond tightens, the floor opened for participant questions tackling on biology and genetics, and future opportunity. In addition, insights was given by two students, each representing their respective programs that helped weave the shared experiences and discipline as sciences.

Psychology can’t be reduce to “nagbabasa ng isip”, and Medical Laboratory Science to “technologist”. Each of the programs are wide discipline, research-driven, and distinct sciences important to sustain human life.

"Stringing Sessions: Episode 1" proved to be a first step to bridge the gap between separate fields of knowledge, opening opportunities to explore interrelatedness, raise awareness, and establish meaningful bonds.
