The Baguio Tourism Council Board of Trustees recently convened for its 3rd Regular Board Meeting, bringing together tourism leaders and sectoral representatives to align plans, strengthen partnerships, and shape the direction of tourism initiatives for the City of Pines.

Key agenda points included committee and financial reports, VIS.I.T.A updates and new features, sectoral development plans, and discussions on major programs and collaborations lined up for 2026 and beyond. The Board also tackled preparations for upcoming tourism events such as the BTC Stakeholders General Assembly in July, the Regional Travel Fair in BARMM, Philippine Travel Mart in Pasay City, and the North Luzon Travel Expo in Subic.

Among the significant developments discussed was the passing of Ordinance No. 38, S. 2026, which supports accredited tourism stakeholders through waived entrance fees in city-operated tourist sites. Future initiatives including BTCโ€™s annual business planning, proposed 2027 projects, tourism infrastructure support, and strengthened partnerships with community organizations and tourism agencies were likewise presented.

As tourism continues to evolve, the meeting underscored BTCโ€™s collective vision of building a more connected, resilient, and experience-driven tourism industry that not only promotes destinations, but also uplifts communities, empowers stakeholders, and proudly showcases the heart of Baguio and the Cordilleras to the world.
