𝟑𝒓𝒅 𝑸𝒖𝒂𝒓𝒕𝒆𝒓 𝑪𝑺𝑰𝑻𝑬 𝑨𝒅𝒗𝒊𝒔𝒐𝒓𝒚 𝑪𝒐𝒖𝒏𝒄𝒊𝒍 𝑴𝒆𝒆𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈

The recently held 3rd Quarter CSITE Advisory Council Meeting brought together representatives from various line agencies and organizations to discuss key initiatives and plans aimed at strengthening the Center for Skills Innovation, Training, and Entrepreneurship (CSITE).

The meeting was held at the Baguio Country Club Museum and presided over by CSITE Advisory Council Chairperson Anthony de Leon and TESDA-CSITE Executive Director Daisy C. Bungallon.

Among those in attendance was Baguio Tourism Council Chairperson Gladys Vergara, who shared the tourism industry’s perspective and proposed the conduct of a coordination meeting to address concerns and explore appropriate interventions and training programs for Baguio’s traditional and dying industries, particularly wood carving, silver craft, and leather craft.

The proposed initiative seeks to help preserve these valuable local skills while providing opportunities for artisans and workers to further develop their craftsmanship, adapt to evolving market demands, and sustain these industries for future generations.

The Council also discussed important matters on the agenda, including the adoption of the CSITE Student Handbook Policy on Student Safety and Security and the Income Generating Plan (IGP) for CSITE.

The meeting highlighted the importance of collaboration among government agencies, the private sector, and partner organizations in developing skills, supporting local industries, and creating sustainable opportunities for the Baguio community.

𝑪𝒆𝒍𝒆𝒃𝒓𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑪𝒖𝒍𝒕𝒖𝒓𝒆, 𝑪𝒐𝒎𝒎𝒖𝒏𝒊𝒕𝒚, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑺𝒖𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒊𝒏𝒂𝒃𝒊𝒍𝒊𝒕𝒚 𝒊𝒏 𝑩𝒂𝒈𝒖𝒊𝒐

The Baguio Country Fair and Ecological Waste Management and Sustainability Fair is officially open along Session Road, bringing a mix of country fun, local culture, sustainability, and community spirit right to the heart of the city.

The celebration opened today, September 11, as part of Baguio City’s 117th Charter Anniversary, with this year’s theme, “Everlasting Baguio: Cultivating Circularity – Building an Everlasting Baguio.”

Leading the opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony was Vice Mayor Faustino Olowan, together with Senior Tourism Operations Officer I Jose Maria Rivera, representatives from the City Tourism, Culture and Arts Office (CTCAO), Diocese of Baguio, and Mangaywan Corporation.

Over at Malcolm Square, the Melting Pot of Cultures also officially opened, adding another colorful layer to the weekend celebration and highlighting the diversity of communities and cultures that come together in Baguio.

And yes, we got a little taste of the country vibe today with FREE pony rides at Lower Session Road!
But that’s just the beginning. More activities are lined up until Sunday, including a pet fashion show, cowboy and cowgirl costume contest, line dancing, arm wrestling, country fashion show, and more.

So if you’re looking for something fun to do this weekend, head down to Session Road and Malcolm Square and be part of the celebration.

The fairs are open until Sunday, September 13. See you there!😊

Three days of connecting, promoting, and showcasing the best of Baguio come to a close!

The Baguio Tourism Council, together with the City Government of Baguio and the Department of Tourism – Cordillera Administrative Region, extends its heartfelt thanks to everyone who visited, supported, and became part of our journey at the 37th Philippine Travel Mart.

From meaningful conversations and new connections to exciting activities, local products, food, giveaways, and stories about why Baguio remains a favorite destination, the past three days have been a wonderful celebration of tourism and the people behind it.

It was inspiring to see the enthusiasm of visitors who stopped by to discover what Baguio has to offer and even more meaningful to share the city alongside our tourism stakeholders, partners, and the hardworking team who made the event possible.

Thank you to everyone who dropped by the Baguio booth and to our partners who helped make this three-day event a success. Your support reminds us why we continue to promote Baguio as a destination worth discovering, experiencing, and coming back to.

Adding prestige to the evening was a distinguished panel composed of Gwendoline Meliz Soriano, Miss Baguio 2024 and Binibining Pilipinas International 2026; Ar. Ghenesis Latugat, Miss Baguio 2021 and Miss Universe Baguio 2022; Anna Lorraine Kier Tabora, Binibining Pilipinas Universe 1977; Gladys Vergara, Chairperson of the Baguio Tourism Council; Fernando Tiong, President of Terraland Realty and Development Corporation; Garth Talusig, Caballero Universal Filipinas 2026; and Kevin Claud Beray, Mr. Culture World International 2023 and book author.

DOT-CAR took the spotlight with an engaging presentation about the Cordillera, giving visitors a glimpse of what makes our region a destination worth discovering. The presentation was followed by a fun Q&A game, where the audience got to test what they learned and of course, win exciting souvenirs from DOT-CAR and Baguio City Tourism!

It’s always more fun when we get to share Baguio and the Cordillera with fellow travelers, tourism partners, and destination enthusiasts.
