(Legazpi City, June 18, 2026) Albay is set to host the 2027 Philippine Folk Dance Festival, one of the largest gatherings organized by the Folk Dance Society.

The event is tentatively scheduled on May 17-22, 2027 at the Legazpi Convention Center, and is expected to draw around 1,500 visitors from different parts of the country.

The festival will be led by the Cultural Center of the Philippines in partnership with the Provincial Government of Albay through the Provincial Tourism, Culture and Arts Office, the City Government of Legazpi, and Bicol University–Institute of Physical Education, Sports and Recreation.

Folk dance performances and other cultural activities showcasing Filipino heritage and traditions will highlight the weeklong celebration.

Organizers expect the event to boost cultural tourism, create economic opportunities for local communities, and further promote Albay as a venue for major cultural events.
