Last June 24, 2026, Louisian student leaders gathered at the Prince Bernhard Gym, Saint Louis University for the 𝟏𝟕𝐭𝐡 𝐆𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐝 𝐒𝐚𝐧 𝐋𝐮𝐢𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 —a day dedicated to honoring passion, service, and excellence.

We are immensely proud and grateful to share that YCE was recognized on the Gawad San Luis stage with two major milestones:

In a world that feels increasingly loud and divided, the ground beneath our feet is the one thing we all share. It provides for us, sustains us, and—if we aren't careful—reminds us of its limits.

At YCE, we don't just see Earth Day as a date on the calendar; we see it as a mandate for change. Real advocacy isn't found in a hashtag—it’s found in the courage to choose sustainability over convenience and collective well-being over short-term gain. 🌿💪

This 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗲𝘁 𝗘𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗵 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, the 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗹 𝗼𝗳 𝗘𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗱𝗶𝗮𝗻𝘀 is stepping up to protect the only home we have. Under the theme "𝙊𝙪𝙧 𝙋𝙤𝙬𝙚𝙧, 𝙊𝙪𝙧 𝙋𝙡𝙖𝙣𝙚𝙩," we are reminded that real change starts with our collective energy and local action.

𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙥𝙡𝙖𝙣𝙚𝙩 𝙙𝙤𝙚𝙨𝙣’𝙩 𝙣𝙚𝙚𝙙 𝙖 𝙝𝙖𝙣𝙙𝙛𝙪𝙡 𝙤𝙛 𝙥𝙚𝙤𝙥𝙡𝙚 𝙙𝙤𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙯𝙚𝙧𝙤 𝙬𝙖𝙨𝙩𝙚 𝙥𝙚𝙧𝙛𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙡𝙮— 𝙞𝙩 𝙣𝙚𝙚𝙙𝙨 𝙢𝙞𝙡𝙡𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙨 𝙤𝙛 𝙪𝙨 𝙙𝙤𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙞𝙩 𝙞𝙢𝙥𝙚𝙧𝙛𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙡𝙮, 𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙧𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙧𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩 𝙣𝙤𝙬.

Today is 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗭𝗲𝗿𝗼 𝗪𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲 𝗗𝗮𝘆, and the 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗹 𝗼𝗳 𝗘𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗱𝗶𝗮𝗻𝘀 is steadfast in redefining what our future looks like. Every single piece of plastic we refuse and every item we choose to repair instead of replace is a vote for a living, breathing Earth. We often treat "disposable" as a convenience, but there is no such thing as throwing something "away"—it always ends up somewhere.

The journey to zero isn’t about being perfect— it’s about millions of us doing it imperfectly but consistently. 𝗟𝗲𝘁’𝘀 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗵𝗼𝗺𝗲, 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗽𝗶𝗲𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘀𝗵 𝗮𝘁 𝗮 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲.

The 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗹 𝗼𝗳 𝗘𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗱𝗶𝗮𝗻𝘀 (YCE) remains committed to its mission of environmental advocacy. We are proud to announce the successful completion of our e-waste segregation activity under 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗘𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁: 𝗖𝗶𝗿𝗰𝘂𝗶𝘁 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗲𝘀.

In collaboration with the 𝗦𝗧𝗘𝗟𝗔 𝗦𝗦𝗖 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗹𝘆, this initiative focuses on the systematic collection and specialized disposal of electronic waste to mitigate its environmental impact. ♻️

Through unified action, we are institutionalizing sustainability within our community.
