History of Zigzag Amateur Club and Radio Civic Action Group
1990 was a destructive year specially to the City of Baguio. By the last quarter of the year 1990 uncertainty and instability still loomed. Many left to migrate to other provinces because of their fear for strong tremors and aftershocks or simply because there was no livelihood left for them here. But out of this destruction and havoc bro

ught about by the earthquake were shades or rays of silver lining in the clouds of Baguio City. Not only were the residents willing to work to rebuild the city but many were made aware of the importance of being unified as one . . . of working together towards a common goal and the importance of radio communication in times of disasters and calamities. Many men and women were motivated to be civic minded, to help in emergencies, to be able to reach out to others through direct civic action work or through radio communications as in the case of most civic action with radio communications. Joey Aguas (951) the founding president together with the first twenty members had problems and difficulties like any other new born organization although they remained unfazed and stove to reach their goals. It was to keep on going and to be steadfast to the ZIGZAG AMATEUR CLUB and RADIO CIVIC ORGANIZATION's ideals.
