Baguio City Community Medical Mission Delivers Free Healthcare Services to Hundreds
BAGUIO CITY, PHILIPPINES — Demonstrating a shared commitment to community welfare and senior health, the Paltiing United Seniors Organization (PUSO), Inc., together with the Cresencia Village Senior Citizens Association and the Brgy. Council, successfully conducted a comprehensive Free Community Medical Mission on July 23, 2026, at the Bonifacio Elementary School Covered Court.
The half-day initiative aimed to address the immediate and preventive health needs of local residents, with a focus on senior citizens. Beneficiaries received a wide range of complimentary services, including laboratory screenings (blood glucose, cholesterol, uric acid), diagnostic evaluations (ECG, nerve tests, bone density scanning), general consultations, and free eyewear.
The outreach was made possible through the collaboration of local medical practitioners, including Dr. Leopoldo A. Calimlim, M.D., Dra. Ma Reylita Cubillas-Calimlim , M.D., Dra. Brenda Villanueva M.D. Dra. Cassandra Gresh M.D., and Doc Nancy M. Caramat, Optometrist. Key health organizations and academic partners—such as the Philippine Red Cross (Baguio Chapter), the University of the Cordilleras- College of Nursing, Pines City Colleges ,SLU College of Medicine- Junior interns and Regional Specialty Medical Associations—also provided crucial technical and operational support.
City leaders Councilor Paolo R. Paolo Raynor Salvosa , Councilor Elmer O. Datuin, and Councilor Betty Lourdes F. Tabanda supported the mission, emphasizing the city's commitment to accessible public healthcare and active aging.
