The University of Cordilleras College of Law is grateful for the utmost support of Barangay Poblacion, La Trinidad Benguet for accommodating our Law Student Practitioners and esteemed lawyers last July 21 and 22, 2026 at Población Barangay Hall in the conduct of our free Legal Aid Services.

‎Said activity served not only as a learning experience for the students but also showed how noble the law profession is as it serves as a glimpse of hope for a lot of people.
‎While the acronym "SUBLI', means Service, Uphold, Bridge, Learn and Integrity, 'subli' is also an Ilocano word that means return.

‎Indeed, the students will surely return to this humbling experience as they face not only the remaining days of their law school journey but also the career they have chosen.

‎Further, we would also want to extend our deepest gratitude to the lawyers who imparted their knowledge and service during the activity including the following: Atty. Dennis Tovera; Atty. Miller Quintin Jr.; Atty. Wilfred Carbonell; Atty. Jenelyn Lapas; Atty. Cyrus Calaya; and most especially, Atty. Mary Megan Tabora.

‎In the end, this activity will not be successful without the participation and dedication of Población Barangay constituents who have given their full trust and appreciation to this activity.

‎Salasalamat kakailyan! Agbiag!

Justice strengthens enterprises when entrepreneurs are informed, protected, and empowered by the law.

The University of the Cordilleras Legal Aid Clinic (UC LAC) participated in the 2026 Cordillera MSME Summit, organized through the partnership of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and the University of the Cordilleras, held on July 22–23, 2026 at the UC Theatre.

Guided by the theme, "Navigating the Shift: Building Resilient and Future-Ready MSMEs," the two-day summit brought together entrepreneurs, government agencies, academic institutions, industry partners, and other stakeholders in support of a stronger and more resilient MSME sector.

As part of this collective effort, the UC Legal Aid Clinic rendered free legal aid services to local entrepreneurs and MSMEs, advancing access to justice by providing legal guidance and fostering greater awareness of the rights and obligations of business owners.

The UC LAC extends its sincere appreciation to the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), the University of the Cordilleras, and all participants for this meaningful collaboration. The Clinic also recognizes the invaluable guidance of its supervising lawyers, Atty. Jennifer Aquino, Atty. Marlon Aquino, and Atty. Harvey Lance Ong Garcia. Together, we affirm that access to justice is not only a pillar of the law, but also a foundation for empowered entrepreneurs and thriving communities.

The University of the Cordilleras College of Law Clinical Legal Education Program 2 students, together with their Supervising Lawyer Atty. Paul Nichol R. De Vera, in partnership with Barangay Pinget, successfully held a Barangay Law Lecture Series focusing on the Safe Spaces Act and the Juvenile Justice and Welfare Act last July 15, 2026. The activity was attended by active community leaders, parents, youth, and organizational representatives (KALIPI, PTA, PDJODA, and Senior Citizens Association) whose enthusiastic participation made this event a resounding success.

Together, let us continue to champion legal awareness, protect the rights of every individual, and build a stronger, more compassionate community that is safe for all.

The session focused on sharpening our peacemakers' practical skills in resolving community disputes -- from unpaid debts and property damages to understanding legal liabilities and penalties surrounding animal abuse & neglect, and responsible dog ownership.

Because true 𝑩𝒊𝒏𝒏𝒂𝒅𝒂𝒏𝒈 means looking out for everyone in our community -- 𝘁𝘄𝗼-𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗴𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝘂𝗿-𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗴𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲.

A big thank you to our local frontliners and peacemakers for their dedication and active participation. As Punong Barangay Hon. Raymund Laxamana wisely shared during the session: "𝐇𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐢 𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐠 𝐧𝐚𝐬𝐚 𝐮𝐭𝐚𝐤, 𝐧𝐚𝐬𝐚 𝐩𝐮𝐬𝐨 𝐝𝐢𝐧.." -- a true showing of serving with brains and leading with heart.

Law student practitioners from the University of the Cordilleras proudly joined the IBP Baguio-Benguet Chapter in its Legal Aid activity during the La Trinidad Equality Expo held on June 24–27, 2026, at La Trinidad Municipal Gym.

Throughout the four-day activity, the law student practitioners gained invaluable hands-on experience by assisting volunteer lawyers in providing legal aid services to the public. They had the opportunity to engage directly with clients, conduct initial interviews, and listen firsthand to individuals seeking guidance on their legal concerns. This practical exposure allowed them to develop essential client-interviewing skills while appreciating the importance of empathy, professionalism, and confidentiality in the practice of law.

Under the guidance and supervision of experienced legal practitioners, the students also assisted in the preparation and drafting of affidavits and other legal documents tailored to the specific needs of the clients. This experience strengthened their legal writing and analytical skills while reinforcing the significance of providing accessible and responsive legal services to the community.

On June 6, 2026, the UC COL Legal Aid Office successfully conducted its Legal Outreach Program at the Ampucao Barangay Hall under the Clinical Legal Education Program (CLEP 2).

Despite the rainy weather, our CLEP 2 Law Student Practitioners (LSPs) actively assisted in providing free legal assistance to the residents.

We extend our deepest gratitude to the dedicated volunteer lawyers from private practice, the Integrated Bar of the Philippines, and the Bureau of Internal Revenue for generously sharing their time and expertise to guide our students and serve the public.

Special thanks are likewise extended to the Ampucao Barangay Officials and staff for providing meals, invaluable logistical support, and warm hospitality, ensuring the smooth ex*****on of this program.

Through CLEP 2, the UC COL Legal Aid Office remains steadfast in molding future lawyers dedicated to public service and legal excellence.
