The University of the Cordilleras Youth and Adolescent Sexuality and Reproductive Health Hub (UYAHH) continues to champion its advocacy of empowering the university community through accessible, inclusive, and stigma-free sexual and reproductive health services.

During the recently held Love Booth event, UYAHH transformed its space into more than just a booth; it became a safe haven for education, awareness, and open conversations. Anchored in the belief that sexual and reproductive health is a fundamental right, UYAHH ensured that its services were completely free and accessible to students, teaching staff, and non-teaching staff of the university.

The services offered included:
- Proper condom use education
- Condom distribution
- Lubricant distribution
- Perineal hygiene health education
- Demonstration of proper self-breast examination
- Distribution of cycle beads
- Free pregnancy test kits
- Family planning counseling

These initiatives aimed not only to provide supplies but to promote informed decision-making, body autonomy, and responsible health practices. Every interaction at the booth reflected UYAHHโ€™s commitment to breaking stigma and normalizing conversations about sexual and reproductive health.

This initiative was made even stronger through the generous support of partner organizations Balay Marvi by LoveYourself and FPOP Baguio-Benguet, who extended their help in providing essential supplies. Their collaboration highlights the power of unity in advancing reproductive health advocacy and ensuring that resources reach those who need them most.

In recognition of its impact and the overwhelming support from the university community, the UYAHH booth proudly won the Peopleโ€™s Choice Award. More than just a title, this award symbolizes trust, appreciation, and the communityโ€™s collective belief in the importance of accessible sexual and reproductive health services.
UYAHH continues to strengthen its advocacy because empowerment begins with education, and education must always be within reach.

The University of the Cordilleras Youth and Adolescent Sexuality and Reproductive Health Hub (UYAHH) took part in the Student Organization Expo on October 1 at the UC Gymnasium, one of the highlight activities of the universityโ€™s Freshmen Day celebration. The annual expo serves as an avenue for student organizations to present their programs and advocacies while welcoming new members of the UC community.

True to its vision of promoting youth empowerment through health education, UYAHH put the spotlight on its core advocacies: HIV and AIDS awareness, prevention of teenage pregnancy, promotion of menโ€™s and womenโ€™s health, gender equality, and overall reproductive health.

To make its advocacy more engaging, UYAHH set up an interactive booth where students could participate in various activities and avail of free services. These included condom distribution, demonstrations on proper condom use using a male ge***al model, free blood pressure monitoring, and motivational quotes designed to inspire positivity and resilience among students.

The booth gained significant attention from both freshmen and upper-year students. Many participants shared that the experience helped them gain practical knowledge and a deeper understanding of sexual and reproductive health issues. The initiative also encouraged open discussions, aiming to break down stigma and promote informed decision-making among young people.

UYAHH acknowledges the support of its partner organizationsโ€” FPOP Baguio-Benguet and the Commission on Population and Development-Cordillera Administrative Region โ€”for providing condoms and educational pamphlets that enhanced the activity.

By taking part in the Freshmen Day expo, UYAHH and UC College of Nursing Student Council reinforced its role as an advocate of health and empowerment among UC students. The organization continues to commit itself to raising awareness, expanding knowledge, and fostering a safe and supportive environment where the youth can learn, express, and make informed choices about their well-being.

As part of the S.H.A.P.E. Adolescents Seminar, Day Three featured an extensive teaching demonstration aimed at deepening understanding of puberty and adolescence at Pines City National High School on September 19.

Through dynamic presentations, interactive activities, and open dialogue, the UYAHH representatives empowered learners to recognize the physical, emotional, and social changes of adolescence, build confidence, and make informed, healthy choices as they transition into young adulthood.

This milestone session not only strengthened foundational knowledge but also fostered a supportive environment for students to ask questions and share experiencesโ€”a crucial step in guiding them toward responsible growth and self-discovery.

Serving as the concluding part of the three-day seminar, this final day encapsulated the programโ€™s mission of equipping adolescents with the knowledge and values they need for a safe, healthy, and purposeful journey into adulthood.
