Today, I had the urge to check our CCTV.
To be honest, I rarely do. We trust our carers deeply and believe they always do their best for the rescues. But today, I came across clips that reminded me why they are one of the most important parts of this mission.
This video is one of those moments.
The person in the clip is the manager of our carers in Nangalisan. He did not even know I was posting this. He had just started his day, letting the mama dog reunite with her puppies, checking on the rescues, giving affection, cuddling them, even kissing one of the dogs.
And it reminded me again that rescue is not just about saving animals. It is also about the people who continue loving them every day after rescue.
Many see the rescues, but behind every fed dog, every clean space, every medication given on time, every special needs rescue cared for, there are carers quietly doing the work every single day.
They feed, clean, maintain the sanctuary, monitor the rescues, give medications, and provide comfort and care.
And many of our rescues need that extra care.
Some are on lifelong maintenance medications. Some are post-distemper survivors who still experience seizures and need close monitoring. We have rescues who are blind, deaf, paralyzed, seniors, and others needing special attention daily.
This is why losing even one carer affects us deeply.
Before, we had 8 carers. We had to downsize to 6 because we could no longer sustain it.
Finding carers with genuine compassion was never easy. The first year was a struggle. We faced many challenges, but somehow, with help from our community and our co-admins, we managed.
But lately, support for the carers has become harder to sustain.
Many who previously sponsored or helped have understandably stopped due to personal struggles and the difficult times we are all facing. We truly understand that.
Still, we hope.
Because these carers are not only helping the rescues, they are also supporting their own families while giving neglected animals a second chance at life.
We currently care for rescues across three properties, and this mission is only possible because there are hands and hearts helping carry it.
So today, we simply want to honor them.
And if, in the coming months, you are able to help support our carers or sponsor their work, know that you are directly helping the dogs continue receiving the care they need every single day.
Thank you for seeing them too. ❤️
