The University of the Cordilleras invites you to join a 3-day seminar-workshop entitled, Geomatics for Disaster Risk Reduction Masterclass on November 11, 12, and 13, 2024.

This is open to fresh graduates; DRRM officers and practitioners; City, Regional and Municipal planners; and those who are interested in Geomatics and Disaster Risk Reduction practice!

The activity is aligned to the recruitment of potential students of UC's Master of Science in Disaster Risk Reduction (MS GeoDRR) which will commence January 2025 during the 2nd trimester SY 2024-2025. More details about the program will be presented during the activity.

DPWH-CAR inks MOA with UC Boondock in support to P3’s sustainable mountain dev’t in CAR

Department of Public Works and Highways – Cordillera Administrative Region (DPWH-CAR) and UC Project 3 of Program Boondock, signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) as a support to Upland River and Spring Water Assessment and Management project in CAR, February 09, 2023, at DPWH-CAR Regional Office, Engineers Hill, Baguio City, Benguet, Philippines.

The project was being presented by the Program Leader, Engr. Nathaniel Vincent A. Lubrica, and discussed its overview to the Regional Director, Engr. Khadaffy D. Tanggol and Assistant Regional Director, Engr. Emmanuel W. Diaz.

During the presentation, Engr. Lubrica specified various tools and equipment that can be used to the engagement, where the project aim is to attain a sustainable development through socio-economic condition.

The UC BOONDOCK - DPWH Collaboration will pave way in the realization of science-based solutions for sustainable infrastructure and disaster risk reduction and management.

This MOA will serve as a continuous partnership that can provide an extensive contribution to the development and implementation of the project. Hence, this kind of partnership exemplifies a strong alliance to both parties in terms of research and development for engineering interventions.

The event was communicated to Engr. Vinnel Moc-eng from the DPWH-CAR, Planning and Design Division and with the help of Atty. Judith R. Martinez-Eustaquio Assistant Chief Right-of-Way and Legal Division.

The DOST-CAR in partnership with DOST PCIEERD and Program Boondock is set to hold the 2022 Mountain Engineering Summit on November 28, 2022 at Venus Parkview Hotel, Baguio City.

The event will showcase various mountain engineering related technologies and innovations which aims for eventual integration with LGU’s local development plan. Likewise, the summit is an avenue for the stakeholders in the community, from line agencies and research institutions, to develop mountain-related technologies and innovations that cater to the mountainous areas.

Moreover, two (2) projects will also be launched during the summit, namely: the Artificial Ground Water Recharge Facility at Strawberry Farm La Trinidad, Benguet and the Cableway for Agricultural Resource Transport System (CARTS) in Bauko, Mountain Province. Both are technology outputs of the Program Boondock, a DOST NICER program. Likewise, the Ground Shaking Hazard Maps for La Trinidad, Benguet will be turned over to the LGU.
