Today, we commemorate St. Ezekiel Moreno, Priest and Bishop, known as the Patron Saint of cancer patients and of all who suffer from chronic illnesses or diseases. A devoted son of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, he fearlessly defended the rights of the Church and spent his life in pastoral charity, especially toward the sick and the poor.
In todayโs Mass, presided over by Rev. Fr. Frans Fandy Palinoan, we are reminded that God upholds justice, yet His love is greater than His justice. He further highlighted that the Eucharist is given to us as a source of spiritual strength, and the Sacrament of Reconciliation is bestowed to heal souls wounded by sin.
In addition, seminarians from the Casiciaco Recoletos Seminary visited and serenaded the patients of the SLU - Sacred Heart Medical Center , offering this simple tribute to St. Ezekiel and standing in solidarity with those who suffer. They were welcomed by the Hospital Chaplain's Office led by Rev. Fr. Emanuel Enjang Pranatal, CICM, together with Dr. Jason Roy Bacani - Medical Director, Mr. Fidel Bautista - Chief Nurse, Ms. Jenifer Balagot - Head of Finance Department, and representatives of the Hospital Administration.
