City Mayor Benjamin Magalong, in a radio interview, confirmed that the site of the improvised explosive device explosion yesterday, April 13, was indeed a "GAMBLING DEN" in Magsaysay, Baguio City.

He added that all 14 victims have already been discharged from the hospital, while the suspect currently in the custody of the Baguio City Police Office has been charged with acts of lasciviousness and frustrated murder.

BAGUIO CITY – The public is invited to the Annual Wholesome Family Event through an Easter Sunrise Service on April 5, 2026, 5 am, at Malcolm Square (People’s Park), conducted by the Baguio City Ecumenical Council (BCEC) in partnership with the Baguio Character Council (BCC).

With the theme, “Living Christ: The Light and Hope for the Fullness of Creation”, BCEC president Fr. Genesis Mark Langbao said the event is part of their group’s commitment to cultivating a city rooted in faith and strong moral character.

“In these challenging times, we aim to bring the community together to celebrate the light of Christ that guides our city toward restoration and hope,” he said.

In a letter dated March 27, 2026, Langbao requested Mayor Benjamin Magalong to deliver the activity’s welcome remarks as chairman of the BCC citing his “steadfast leadership and dedication to Baguio’s ‘Character City’ initiatives.”
