𝐋𝐈𝐕𝐄 𝐁𝐎𝐋𝐃. 𝐔𝐍𝐅𝐑𝐈𝐄𝐍𝐃 𝐅𝐄𝐀𝐑. 𝐁𝐄 𝐎𝐍𝐄 𝐎𝐅 𝐔𝐒. ROTC aims to provide military education and training for students to mobilize them for national defense preparedness.

Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC) in the Philippines is one of three components of the National Service Training Program, the civic education and defense preparedness program for Filipino college students. Its specific objectives include preparation of college students for service in the Armed Forces of the Philippines in the event of an emergency and their training to become reservists and potential commissioned officers of the AFP. 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗲: 𝗛𝘆𝗴𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗲, 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗟𝗶𝗳𝗲-𝗦𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝗸𝗶𝗹𝗹𝘀

On 03 October 2026, the University of Baguio ROTC Unit conducted its 𝟲𝘁𝗵 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗗𝗮𝘆 for the NSTP-ROTC MS-1 cadets.

The training introduced discussions on 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗛𝘆𝗴𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗲 and 𝗕𝗮𝘀𝗶𝗰 𝗟𝗶𝗳𝗲 𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 (𝗕𝗟𝗦), facilitated by 𝘔𝘳. 𝘛𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘛𝘳𝘢𝘷𝘪𝘴 𝘕𝘨𝘢𝘺-𝘰𝘴 of the Philippine Red Cross Baguio Chapter, with the assistance of 𝘔𝘚𝘨 𝘈𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘰𝘯 𝘋 𝘈𝘯𝘨𝘸𝘢𝘺 (𝘙𝘦𝘴) 𝘗𝘈 and 𝘚𝘚𝘨 𝘈𝘯𝘵𝘰𝘯𝘪𝘰 𝘎 𝘗𝘶𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘗𝘈. The lessons emphasized proper personal care and the basic knowledge and skills needed to respond to emergencies and provide immediate assistance.

On 26 September 2026, the University of Baguio ROTC Unit conducted its 𝟱𝘁𝗵 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗗𝗮𝘆 for the NSTP-ROTC MS-1 cadets.

The training featured a discussion on the 𝗖𝗼𝗱𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝗶𝘇𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗘𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗰𝘀, followed by 𝗠𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘁𝗲𝘀𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲, conducted by 𝘛𝘚𝘨 𝘙𝘰𝘮𝘮𝘦𝘭 𝘋 𝘓𝘰𝘱𝘦𝘻 (𝘐𝘯𝘧) 𝘗𝘈. The discussions emphasized responsible citizenship, ethical conduct, and the values expected of a responsible citizen, while introducing cadets to the importance of military discipline and courtesy in maintaining respect, proper conduct, and order.

Cadets were reminded that discipline is an essential part of military service, shaping how soldiers conduct themselves, follow standards, and carry out their responsibilities.

On 22 September 2026, the University of Baguio ROTC Unit participated in 𝗦𝗖𝗝𝗣𝗦 𝗦𝗣𝗔𝗥𝗞𝗦 (Student Preparatory Assembly & Readiness Kickoff) at the University of Baguio Cardinals Gym.

As part of the SCJPS General Orientation, the UBROTCU cadet officers showcased a 𝗦𝗶𝗹𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗗𝗿𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲, demonstrating precision, synchronization, discipline, and teamwork. Each movement and formation reflected the focus and coordination developed through ROTC training. Following the drill, the cadets delivered a 𝗣𝗼𝘀𝘁-𝗗𝗿𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗗𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲, bringing energy and excitement to the event while showcasing their confidence, coordination, and flexibility.

On 19 September 2026, the University of Baguio ROTC Unit conducted its 𝟰𝘁𝗵 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗗𝗮𝘆 for NSTP-ROTC MS-1 cadets, which also included their 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗘𝘅𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻. The session featured 𝘊𝘖𝘓 𝘌𝘔𝘔𝘈𝘕𝘜𝘌𝘓 𝘓 𝘋𝘐𝘈𝘚𝘌𝘕 𝘑𝘙. 𝘎𝘚𝘊 (𝘐𝘕𝘍) 𝘗𝘈, 1401 CDC, 14th RCDG Director, who provided an overview of the 𝗣𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗔𝗿𝗺𝘆 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 and spoke about the mandatory ROTC program, its benefits, and the opportunities of joining the Advanced ROTC, followed by 𝟣𝘓𝘛 𝘈𝘙𝘛𝘏𝘜𝘙 𝘊 𝘈𝘕𝘐𝘛𝘖 𝘐𝘕𝘍 (𝘗𝘈), who discussed 𝗙𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗜𝗻𝗳𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗿𝘆 𝗕𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗢𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, giving cadets an understanding of its basic organization and functions.

The training featured a discussion on the 𝗔𝗙𝗣 𝗖𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗩𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗲𝘀, followed by 𝗠𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗖𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗺𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀, conducted by 𝘛𝘴𝘨 𝘊𝘰𝘳𝘯𝘦𝘭𝘪𝘰 𝘗 𝘊𝘶𝘥𝘭𝘪 (𝘈𝘎𝘚) 𝘗𝘈. On 12 September 2026, the University of Baguio Advance ROTC Unit joined the celebration of the 𝟰𝟳𝘁𝗵 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝘀𝘁𝘀 𝗪𝗲𝗲𝗸, mustering and awarding of honorable Reservists and Personnels for their dedicated journey of service and patriotism.

The event is a significant milestone for the Basic Citizen Military Training (BCMT) graduates, celebrating their great achievements, earned promotion and readiness to serve our nation. Beyond service the reserve force of 1401st Community Defense Center (1401CDC)showcased their act of service with bravery and patriotism in times of calamities or disaster happened during the landslide incident at Guisad Surong, Baguio City.

On 08-09 September 2026, the University of Baguio ROTC Unit joined the 𝗗𝗮𝗽𝗶𝘁 𝗨𝗯𝗶𝗮𝗻𝗼 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, the University of Baguio’s annual university week celebration with the theme, “𝙒𝙚𝙡𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙄𝙙𝙚𝙖𝙨, 𝙄𝙣𝙣𝙤𝙫𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙏𝙤𝙙𝙖𝙮, 𝙎𝙪𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙞𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙏𝙤𝙢𝙤𝙧𝙧𝙤𝙬.”

As part of the celebration, the UB ROTC Unit booth offered a variety of interactive activities, including the 𝗦𝗵𝗼𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗥𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲 and 𝗣𝗵𝗼𝘁𝗼 𝗕𝗼𝗼𝘁𝗵. The activities brought UBians together through friendly challenges, participation, and shared moments throughout the celebration.

The University of Baguio ROTC Unit extends its appreciation to everyone who visited and participated in our booth. Your energy and enthusiasm made our participation in Dapit Ubiano 2026 a memorable celebration of camaraderie and UBian spirit.

The training featured a lecture on 𝗗𝗿𝗶𝗹𝗹𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗖𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗻𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝟭 followed by 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗮 𝗦𝗼𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗲𝗿, conducted by 𝘛𝘴𝘨 𝘊𝘰𝘳𝘯𝘦𝘭𝘪𝘰 𝘗 𝘊𝘶𝘥𝘭𝘪 (𝘈𝘎𝘚) 𝘗𝘈. The discussions introduced cadets to the fundamentals of military drills, ceremonies, and the proper standards of conduct expected of a soldier. Through these lessons, cadets continue to develop discipline, proper bearing, and a deeper understanding of military customs and responsibilities.
