𝐋𝐈𝐕𝐄 𝐁𝐎𝐋𝐃. 𝐔𝐍𝐅𝐑𝐈𝐄𝐍𝐃 𝐅𝐄𝐀𝐑. 𝐁𝐄 𝐎𝐍𝐄 𝐎𝐅 𝐔𝐒. ROTC aims to provide military education and training for students to mobilize them for national defense preparedness.

Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC) in the Philippines is one of three components of the National Service Training Program, the civic education and defense preparedness program for Filipino college students. Its specific objectives include preparation of college students for service in the Armed Forces of the Philippines in the event of an emergency and their training to become reservists and potential commissioned officers of the AFP. 𝗘𝗺𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵 𝗧𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗣𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗲, 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆

On 01 August 2026, the University of Baguio Advance ROTC Unit actively participated in the 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗣𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗔𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘁𝘆 held at the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO), Lower Rock Quarry, Baguio City. Guided by the theme, “𝘛𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘴𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘮𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘈𝘵𝘵𝘪𝘵𝘶𝘥𝘦𝘴 𝘛𝘩𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘨𝘩 𝘓𝘦𝘢𝘥𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘩𝘪𝘱 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘕𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯-𝘉𝘶𝘪𝘭𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘈𝘥𝘷𝘰𝘤𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘗𝘦𝘢𝘤𝘦.”

The activity was initiated and spearheaded by the Youth For Peace Baguio Chapter in partnership with the City Government of Baguio, Joint Task Unit “Panagkaykaysa” (JTU), Local Youth Development Council (LYDC), Sangguniang Kabataan Baguio City Federation, Baguio Honor Guards, and especially the University of Baguio Advance ROTC cadet officers.

The program commenced with an inspiring message from 𝘏𝘰𝘯. 𝘝𝘪𝘤𝘦 𝘔𝘢𝘺𝘰𝘳 𝘍𝘢𝘶𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘰 𝘈𝘵𝘪𝘸𝘢𝘨 𝘖𝘭𝘰𝘸𝘢𝘯, who emphasized the vital role of the youth in promoting peace, unity, and responsible leadership. This was followed by the lecture, “𝗦𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗠𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗮 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗣𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗔𝗱𝘃𝗼𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀,” delivered by 𝘔𝘴. 𝘒𝘩𝘳𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘦 𝘔𝘰𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘢𝘴, followed by “𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗹𝗶𝗰𝘁 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻,” presented by 𝘋𝘳. 𝘋𝘰𝘯𝘯𝘢𝘣𝘦𝘭𝘭𝘦 𝘗𝘢𝘯𝘦𝘴. The activity concluded with an interactive workshop that encouraged collaboration, mutual understanding, and solidarity among the participating youth organizations.

𝗣𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗱𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀, 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲

On 18 July 2026, the University of Baguio Advance ROTC Unit proudly joined the 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵 (𝗡𝗗𝗥𝗠) 𝗥𝗼𝗮𝗱𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗰 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗽𝗹𝗮𝘆 as part of the 𝟯𝟴𝘁𝗵 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵 celebration.

The event brought together agencies and organizations including the Baguio City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), Baguio City Police Office (BCPO), City Health Services Office (CHSO), 122nd Naval Combat Support Squadron Reserve, Philippine Navy Reserve, Tactical Operations Group 1 of the Philippine Air Force, KABALIKAT CIVICOM, Baguio Chapter-755 Kafagway Base, City Veterinary and Agricultural Office (CVAO), Baguio-Benguet Public Information and Civic Action Group (BB-PICAG), and especially the 1401st Community Defense Center (1401CDC), Philippine Army, along with other partner agencies to promote disaster preparedness through interactive exhibits, static displays, emergency response equipment, and public awareness campaigns.

Through initiatives like this, participants strengthened community awareness and preparedness, reminding every Filipino that resilience begins with knowledge, cooperation, and readiness before, during, and after disasters.

On 16 July 2026, the University of Baguio Advance ROTC Unit joined the 𝗪𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗣𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗦𝗲𝗮 𝗠𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗥𝗶𝗯𝗯𝗼𝗻-𝗖𝘂𝘁𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘆 held along Magsaysay Avenue, La Trinidad, Benguet, in commemoration of the 𝟭𝟬𝘁𝗵 𝗔𝗻𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝟮𝟬𝟭𝟲 𝗔𝗿𝗯𝗶𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱.

The ceremony was graced by 𝘊𝘖𝘓 𝘌𝘔𝘔𝘈𝘕𝘜𝘌𝘓 𝘓 𝘋𝘐𝘈𝘚𝘌𝘕 𝘑𝘙. 𝘎𝘚𝘊 (𝘐𝘕𝘍) 𝘗𝘈, Director, 1401CDC, 14RCDG, RCPA, Philippine Army, together with 𝘏𝘰𝘯. 𝘉𝘦𝘯𝘫𝘢𝘮𝘪𝘯 𝘉. 𝘔𝘢𝘨𝘢𝘭𝘰𝘯𝑔, City Mayor of Baguio. Their messages emphasized that safeguarding the West Philippine Sea is a shared responsibility of every Filipino, regardless of where they live.

Hosted by the 1𝙨𝙩 𝘾𝙞𝙫𝙞𝙡 𝙍𝙚𝙡𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙨 𝙂𝙧𝙤𝙪𝙥, 𝘾𝙞𝙫𝙞𝙡 𝙍𝙚𝙡𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙨 𝙎𝙚𝙧𝙫𝙞𝙘𝙚, 𝘼𝙁𝙋 in collaboration with 𝙅𝙤𝙞𝙣𝙩 𝙏𝙖𝙨𝙠 𝙐𝙣𝙞𝙩 “𝙋𝙖𝙣𝙖𝙜𝙠𝙖𝙮𝙠𝙖𝙮𝙨𝙖,” the event featured cultural performances, a Bike for Fun, and a Battle of the Bands showcasing six (6) Cordilleran youth bands. The program was graced by 𝘔𝘢𝘺𝘰𝘳 𝘉𝘦𝘯𝘫𝘢𝘮𝘪𝘯 𝘉. 𝘔𝘢𝘨𝘢𝘭𝘰𝘯𝘨, 𝘋𝘳. 𝘚𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘥𝘢𝘯 𝘈𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘯𝘢 𝘠. 𝘎𝘢𝘫𝘦𝘵𝘦, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘓𝘛𝘊 𝘑𝘖𝘑𝘖 𝘔𝘈𝘚𝘊𝘈𝘙𝘐Ñ𝘈𝘚 𝘐𝘕𝘍 (𝘎𝘚𝘊) 𝘗𝘈, who emphasized the importance of patriotism, national unity, and the vital role of the youth in safeguarding the country’s sovereign rights and preserving its maritime heritage.

On this 12th day of June, we proudly commemorate the 𝟭𝟮𝟴𝘁𝗵 𝗣𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗗𝗮𝘆 and honor the courage, sacrifices, and patriotism of the Filipino heroes who fought for our nation’s freedom.

𝗦𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲, 𝗛𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗿, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁: 𝗔 𝗬𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗱

On 16 May 2026, the Joint ROTC Units of the University of Baguio, Cordillera Career Development College, and King's College of the Philippines formally conducted the 𝗝𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁 𝗖𝗹𝗼𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗕𝗮𝘀𝗶𝗰 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗔𝗱𝘃𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗲 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲𝗿𝘀' 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗼𝗿𝗽𝘀 (𝗥𝗢𝗧𝗖) for Calendar Year 2025–2026.

The ceremony commenced with the Welcome Remarks delivered by 𝘋𝘳. 𝘚𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘳𝘺 𝘑𝘶𝘯𝘦𝘵𝘵𝘦 𝘔. 𝘛𝘢𝘨𝘭𝘦, School President of CCDC. The presentation of students for closing was led by 𝘓𝘛𝘊 𝘑𝘌𝘖𝘍𝘍𝘙𝘌𝘠 𝘎 𝘊𝘖𝘋𝘐𝘈𝘔𝘈𝘛 (𝘐𝘕𝘍) 𝘗𝘈 and 2𝘓𝘛 𝘚𝘜𝘕𝘚𝘏𝘐𝘕𝘌 𝘈 𝘉𝘜𝘎𝘛𝘖𝘕𝘎 𝘗𝘈 (𝘙𝘌𝘚). The declaration of students for graduation and the distribution of certificates were officiated by 𝘊𝘖𝘓 𝘌𝘔𝘔𝘈𝘕𝘜𝘌𝘓 𝘓 𝘋𝘐𝘈𝘚𝘌𝘕 𝘑𝘙., 𝘎𝘚𝘊 (𝘐𝘕𝘍) 𝘗𝘈, Director, 1401CDC, 14RCDG, RCPA. This was followed by the acceptance and oath-taking ceremony administered by 𝘓𝘛𝘊 𝘌𝘋𝘎𝘈𝘙 𝘏 𝘔𝘈𝘋𝘓𝘈𝘐𝘕𝘎 𝘗𝘈 (𝘙𝘌𝘚), Acting Commanding Officer, 1401RRIBn.

The highlight of the ceremony was the inspirational message delivered by𝘏𝘰𝘯. 𝘔𝘦𝘭𝘤𝘩𝘰𝘳 𝘋. 𝘋𝘪𝘤𝘭𝘢𝘴, 𝘔.𝘋., Governor of Benguet and Guest of Honor and Speaker, who encouraged the cadets to uphold the principles of leadership, patriotism, and service as they move forward in their respective endeavors.

The University of Baguio Advance ROTC Unit (UBROTCU) proudly congratulates its cadets for their outstanding achievements during the 𝗔𝗱𝘃𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗥𝗢𝗧𝗖 𝗔𝗰𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗰 𝗣𝗵𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 (𝗔𝗥𝗔𝗣𝗧) MS 41-42, Class of 2026, conducted by 14th Regional Community Defense Group, Reserve Command, Philippine Army from 18 - 31 May 2026 at Mabatobato, Military Reservation, Lamut, Ifugao.
