YOUTH-FOCUSED PROGRAMS. Representatives of the Pag-asa Youth Association of the Philippines (PYAP) – Negros Occidental and National Intelligence Coordinating Agency (NICA) paid a courtesy visit to Mayora Mayette Javellana on July 2 to present their planned Bangon Bayan Youth Camp and discuss youth-focused programs the city may host later this month.

The proposed camp, slated for Bago City in the last week of July, is expected to strengthen youth empowerment, development, and active participation in the community.

The initiative will also include the Blue Heart Run, an anti-human trafficking campaign open to the public, with registration to open soon.

Present during the visit were PYAP Negros Occidental Federation President Renz Roland Ejes, Provincial Youth Development Officer Mardy Mae Javier, PYAP External Relations Volunteers Rickson John Jayawon and Ramil Delfin, NICA Negros Island Region Assistant Regional Director Erwin Apostol, and NICA NIR staff Mary Rose Laurilla.

Mayora Mayette welcomed the group as they explored possible collaboration on programs that can advance youth participation and community protection in Bago City.

The Pag-asa Youth Association of the Philippines (PYAP) Negros Occidental proudly took part in the 3Zero Club Philippine Network's Youth Leads 3 held on June 29 at the Bago City Coliseum, joining over 600 youth leaders from across the Visayas in a day dedicated to learning, collaboration, and meaningful youth engagement.

Representing the province were delegates from the LGUs of Sagay City, Talisay City, Murcia, Bago City, Pulupandan, La Carlota City, Isabela, and Binalbagan, together with the PYAP Youth Action Volunteers, demonstrating the province's shared commitment to youth leadership and volunteerism.

Throughout the event, participants attended plenary and breakout sessions on youth leadership, climate action, cyber hygiene, and food security, while also connecting with fellow youth organizations through interactive exhibits and networking opportunities.

With 192 delegates in attendance from across Negros Occidental, PYAP continues to strengthen its mission of empowering young people, fostering active citizenship, and building communities led by informed, engaged, and service-driven youth.

The future just got a little brighter in Bago City.

Today, June 29, 2026, the youth and student leaders from across the Visayas gathered at the Bago City Coliseum, Negros Occidental, for the Visayas Leg of Youth Leads 3: Shaping the Future Through Purpose, Innovation, and Social Action — a day of bold ideas, inspiring conversations, and shared purpose.

This convention was organized by the 3Zero Club Philippine Network, supported by Negros Women for Tomorrow Foundation, Inc. (NWTF), and made possible through the partnership of the City Government of Bago, Slow Food Youth Network Bago Fresh, and the Pag-Asa Youth Association of the Philippines - Negros Occidental.

Through powerful discussions on youth leadership, climate advocacy, innovation, and community development, one thing became clear: the youth are not just the leaders of tomorrow — they are already leading today.

To every young leader who showed up, spoke up, and leaned in — thank you for proving that purpose has no age limit. This is only the beginning.
