Brgy Imurung Baggao Cagayan IMURUNG HISTORY

From the year 1896,Imurung was inhabited by hunters. The Hunters lived chiefly on forest products. Imurung was occupied by insurrectos.

One day, they want to search for food.On their way they found a brook which was full of "AGURUNG" , a kind of shell food. They discovered that it was edible, so they gathered sacks of it. They named the place Imurung in remembrance of the day of discovery. An old man named SIMEON ABAD who was native of the place become the spy of the Americans to the insurrectos. He was caught by them for several

times but could always escape even if they put him inside a sack. He was called the old man with "GALLING-GALING". He was the one who revealed the hiding place of the insurrectos which led the American to the capture of these rebel men.
