Ngayong araw, inaalala natin si Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino Jr.—isang senador at journalist na naging isa sa mga boses na nanindigan para sa demokrasya, kalayaan, at karapatan ng mga Pilipino.

Despite imprisonment, exile, and the risks he faced, he continued to speak up for a better Philippines. His return and assassination in 1983 became a defining moment in the country’s history and strengthened the Filipino people’s call for democratic change.

His story reminds us that leadership isn’t always about position or power. Sometimes, it means having the courage to stand for what you believe is right.

As young Filipinos, may we continue to learn from our history, value our freedom, and use our voices responsibly.

Every big change starts with something small.

One decision to show up.
One lesson learned.

Most of the time, we look at success and only see the result. We forget the little things that happened every day before we got there.

If you can stay home, stay home. If you need to go out, please avoid flooded roads and never risk crossing water when you can’t see how deep it is. No errand, appointment, or deadline is worth putting yourself in danger.

And while you’re checking on yourself, check on someone else too. 🤍

Maybe it’s the friend who lives alone.
Maybe it’s the person who always says, “Okay lang ako.”
Maybe it’s someone who simply needs to know that somebody cares.

Take this as a reminder to slow down, stay alert, and look out for one another.
