“Sulat ng Isang Upsilonian”

Sa isang tahimik na gabi, isang dating Upsilonian ang sumulat ng liham sa kanyang Kapatiran bago niya harapin ang panibagong yugto ng kanyang buhay.

Mahal kong Upsilon Phi Sigma,

Kung may isa akong hiling, sana noon pa lamang ay mas mahigpit ninyo akong itinuwid.

Naaalala ko noong bagong miyembro pa lang ako. Madalas akong nahuhuli sa mga gawain, hindi sumusunod sa mga alituntunin, at hindi tinutupad ang mga responsibilidad ko. Marami ang nakakita, ngunit marami rin ang nagsabing, “Hayaan mo na, bata pa naman.”

Nang maging opisyal ako, naging kampante akong lumabag sa mga patakaran. Hindi ako dumadalo sa mga pagpupulong, hindi ako naging mabuting halimbawa sa mga bagong miyembro, at minsan ay ginagamit ko pa ang pangalan ng organisasyon para sa sarili kong kapakinabangan. May mga nakapansin, ngunit pinili nilang manahimik upang maiwasan ang alitan.

Unti-unti, naniwala akong tama ang ginagawa ko dahil wala namang sumasaway. Hanggang sa dumating ang araw na hindi lamang ang pangalan ko ang nadungisan, kundi pati ang pangalan ng organisasyong minsang humubog sa akin.

Doon ko naunawaan ang isang masakit na katotohanan.

Ang katahimikan sa harap ng maling gawain ay hindi awa—ito ay kapabayaan.

Hindi ko kailangan noon ng mga kapatid na palaging sasang-ayon sa akin. Ang kailangan ko ay mga kapatid na may lakas ng loob na ituwid ako kahit alam nilang maaaring magalit ako.

Dahil ang tunay na kapatiran ay hindi lamang nagsasama sa saya. Ito ay nagtatama sa pagkakamali, nagtuturo ng pananagutan, at humuhubog ng mabuting pagkatao.

Kung mababasa ninyo ang liham na ito, sana ay huwag ninyong hayaang lumaki ang maliliit na pagkakamali ng inyong mga kapatid. Itama ninyo sila habang maaga. Disiplinahin ninyo sila nang may paggalang at pagmamahal.

Dahil ang Upsilon Phi Sigma ay hindi lamang samahan ng magkakapatid—ito ay paaralan ng karakter, pamumuno, at paglilingkod.

🌱 Isang Binhing Pag-asa para sa Kinabukasan 🌱

Apat na buwan na ang lumipas mula nang sama-sama naming itanim ang mga bakawang ito sa aming adopted coastal area. Ngayon, unti-unti na silang nabubuhay at lumalago—isang simpleng patunay na ang bawat munting hakbang ay may kakayahang magbunga ng malaking pagbabago.

Balang araw, sa paglipas ng mga taon, inaasahan naming makikita ang lugar na ito na luntian, masigla, at nagsisilbing tahanan ng iba’t ibang yamang-dagat. Ang mga bakawang ito ay hindi lamang panangga laban sa pagguho ng baybayin at epekto ng kalamidad, kundi simbolo rin ng pag-asa para sa susunod na henerasyon.

Bilang mga estudyante, maaaring wala kaming malaking pondo para sa mga proyekto sa komunidad, ngunit hindi iyon naging hadlang upang makapaglingkod. Pinatunayan naming ang tunay na serbisyo ay nagsisimula sa malasakit, pagkakaisa, at kusang-loob na pagkilos. Hindi kailangang mayaman upang makagawa ng kabutihan—ang mahalaga ay may pusong handang tumulong.

Nawa’y lumago at mamukadkad ang bawat bakawang aming itinanim, tulad ng aming mga pangarap at magiging propesyon sa hinaharap. Tulad ng mga punlang ito, nawa’y maging matatag kami sa pagharap sa mga hamon, maging kapaki-pakinabang sa aming komunidad, at mag-iwan ng pamana ng pag-asa at pagmamahal sa kalikasan.

🌿 Ang punlang itinatanim ngayon ay magiging kagubatan ng pag-asa bukas. Ang serbisyong ginagawa natin ngayon ang magiging pamana natin sa susunod na henerasyon. 💚
