JOHNIAN VOICES: ONE SCHOOL, DIVERSE ADVOCACIES

Every community is transformed by people who choose to care. At Saint John's Institute, service-learning begins with a voice—one that recognizes community needs, embraces compassion, and takes meaningful action.

Through Johnian Voices, our Grade 10 to Senior High School students share the advocacies that shape who they are as learners, leaders, and servant-citizens. Each story reflects a commitment to using their gifts, experiences, and passions to create positive change beyond the classroom.

Some places never stop calling us home.

On April 13, CESLO returned to GK Huaming to lay the groundwork—conducting a community assessment, listening to the voices of the community, and identifying opportunities where service-learning can create lasting impact.

On June 10, we came back once again - not simply to revisit, but to strengthen a partnership built on trust, purpose, and shared hope. We met with community leaders, revisited shared
goals, and continued preparing the foundation for what is yet to come.

"𝘠𝘰𝘶 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘩𝘰𝘮𝘦, 𝘩𝘰𝘮𝘦... 𝘐 𝘧𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘥 𝘮𝘺 𝘸𝘢𝘺 𝘩𝘰𝘮𝘦. 𝘚𝘰 𝘐'𝘮 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘩𝘰𝘮𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘺𝘰𝘶, 𝘰𝘰𝘩-𝘰𝘰𝘩." 🏡✨🎶

Through 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗟𝗘𝗔𝗣 (𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴, 𝗘𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗔𝘀𝗽𝗶𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺), Johnians will soon embark on a service-learning journey with GK Huaming—bringing classroom learning into the community while learning with the community. This partnership will become a space where compassion meets action, and where future student volunteers will discover that the greatest lessons are often learned beyond the four walls of a classroom.

Because some communities become more than outreach sites. They become places we return to—not because we have to, but because they remind us why we chose to serve in the first place.

As Project LEAP begins, we look forward to creating new stories, building lasting relationships, and continuing our mission of 𝗕𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀, 𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗙𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲𝘀—one visit, one lesson, and one homecoming at a time.

Before the classrooms, the projects, and the countless stories of transformation that followed, GK Hua Ming was home. It was where communities were built, friendships were formed, and the spirit of outreach found its place among the people we served and learned from.

Years may have passed, but some places never stop being part of who we are.

As CESLO returns to the Msgr. John Liu and Msgr. John Su GK Village through Project LEAP, we come back with grateful hearts, ready to reconnect, learn, and continue the mission of service that has always defined us. Through meaningful service-learning experiences, we are reminded that education becomes more impactful when it is grounded in compassion, community engagement, and the Johnian core value of Concern for Others.

"𝘽𝙪𝙩 𝙄 𝙠𝙣𝙚𝙬 𝙞𝙩, 𝙄 𝙠𝙣𝙚𝙬 𝙮𝙤𝙪.
𝙄 𝙠𝙣𝙚𝙬 𝙞𝙩, 𝙄 𝙠𝙣𝙚𝙬 𝙮𝙤𝙪." 🎶✨

Because home is not simply where we started, it is where our commitment to serve continues to grow, where learning finds purpose, and where communities and learners journey together toward a better future.

CESLO is home. 🩵💛

BRINGING SMILES IN KALIPAY ✨
🗓️ January 30, 2026
📍 Kalipay Foundation

Last January 30, our Grade 4 students and their parents gathered at Kalipay Foundation for a meaningful day of connection through art and play. Guided by the theme “If I Had Superpowers,” families shared creativity, imagination, and collaboration—turning simple moments into powerful memories.

More than just an activity, it became a space where dreams were expressed, ideas were celebrated, and bonds were strengthened. It was a joyful and memorable experience that reflected the true spirit of service, solidarity, and shared growth within the community.
